Bel Air,#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Wed, September 01, 2010
Sorry to hear of your experience, but cant say I'm surprised either. I am a former employee of USA Discounters (store manager). I come from a corporate background with an international company, and never in my professional life have I ever experienced a company that is so disfunctional!
I never was fond of working there, however my store made the sales numbers and it was a job. Sadly I was injured at work and immediately taken out of work by an orthopedic surgeon who said I was in danger of being permanently paralyzed! So I notified my work, manager and even the VP of the company and NEVER did I hear from them except 4 weeks later when the company attorney (very arrogant and full of himself) and he fired me for not filling out a form before I left...WTF????
So my point is this, if they dont care about a great, dedicated employee...would anyone think they cared about them as a consumer? NO!
I have filed a complaint with the EEOC, and also looking for an attorney who specializes in employment law, particulary violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.....
This company cares nothing of you, and with my experience with them, they care nothing excpet selling. The items are good, but way over priced, and the interest rates are crazy! They do pray upon in their own words "certain demographics" of the population and it's now clear to me as to why!

First of all, I am sorry to hear that you have had so much trouble. I would, however, like to speak on their behalf. My husband and I left gov't service and moved to Louisiana. We didn't realize how difficult the situation was regarding jobs and have not been able to get enough money together other than survive. I knew that I was going to have to pay for the furniture out of pocket but didn't have the money. I called the USA Discounters and spoke with those handling my account and was initially told to call back the next month as I was already paid up. When I called back the next month I told them that I didn't know what I was going to do and was told that because I had been making the allotment payments for 6 months that they could do a refinance and the reason they wanted me to wait was so that I would have ANOTHER month in which I didn't need to pay. The stores didn't have much information to help me other than give me the other 800 number to call but those that handled my account. Great People. Susan Mehmeti Mandeville, LA
