I was contacted via phone by Sam Wilson. He offered me a $2,000 loan with interest of $400. He said that Icould make 12 payments of $200 per month. He also said that a checking account was not required. He also said that I would need to make my first payment of $200 via a particular pre paid card. " The first monthly payment has to be made through Vanilla Reload Network Prepaid Reload. "
At first, it didn't seem to matter. After questioning Sam about this, he said that they must receive their first payment this way. I asked him why I couldn't use my prepaid card, he said no etc.
I called back several times and also spoke with Paul Amber, he described him self as a sales associate. Finally they explained that I would need to go to CVS or Walgreen's to buy this card. They also said to call them when I am at the store to make sure that I was buying the right card to make the transaction.
I stopped at a local CVS and talked with a seasoned employee. When he saw what I was buying, he asked me why I was buying it. I told him about the loan etc and he cautioned me with some very good advice. He said that there have been many scams and rip offs by companies asking people to make payments this way. He said to not do it. I thanked him and left the store without buying the card.
I looked at the link from his web site. There were several major contradictions in their web site from what he told me. It appears that the web site could be another company's or they are just flat out lieing and ripping people off.
When I got back home, I called the same number, 206-395-3317 . I talked with Paul Amber, a supervisor. I again asked them why I couldn't just pay the $200 from my own money card. Again he gave some bs and crappy explaination.
Since they said that were in Seattle, I asked them some questions about the sports teams in Seattle. He refused to answer me and became very very beligerant and interrupted every time that I began to ask him another question. Both of us raised our voices some more and then he finally said to never call him again.
Here is the email that they sent to me:
