I myself just became a victim of USBI and Cheap2Dial. My father worked for Verizon for 30 years, and he had a lot to say on this subject. First off, tell Verizon you have already spoken to this company and they are giving you the run around. Tell them to take the charge off of your bill. Pay the portion you owe, minus the extra charge. Second, and most important! Tell Verizon to "block third-party billers from billing your account." If you want to add third party long distance or other services in the future, it will be a little more work, but it is worth avoiding this headache. USBI is a separate company and only does the billing. Cheap2Dial is the real culprit. They are a scumbag company, who exist only to perform scams like this. Want to help fight them? Print out everything, and send copies along with a letter explaining what happened to the FCC: Federal Communications Commission 445 12th Street SW Washington, DC 20554 Good luck!
