Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On May 2, 2008 Pat nd I purchased a building from U.S. Buildings in Boone, NC over the telephone. Shaun Martin was the salesperson Mr. Martin said he had a building that was scheduled to go to auction and that if we would purchase it today he could let us have it for $5,000. This was to be 20' x 30' which had two openings for a large door (8 x8) with a frane and one (36" x 80") with a frame. He said this building was valued at $13,000 but we had to buy today. They had some sort of contest going that if he go our signed contract that day he would win a vacation for his family to go to Tenn.

Mr. Martin explained that they had to have a 25% deposit that day. He also said the balance would be due on delivery, Never once mentioned we had a three day period in which to change our minds.

Everything seemed to be urgent. Mr. Martin wanted to know if we had a fax. We don't, so we agreed to go to Gilbert to use their machine. Pat and I have poor eyesight and conditions for delivery were in the extremely small print. We thought we were dealing with a reputable company. Never expedtinng and trouble

Aday or so later we recieved the blueprints for our building. They weren't the same as what we ordered. No frame for either door.

We called and spoke to a man and he told me that we could just leave the two panels out and go purchase the door frames. So I told him to just cancel the order that wes not what we ordered. After much discussion he agreed that we would get the door frames.

The next day or so we received notice that the deliveryman would be expecting us to unload the truck. I am 70 years old and Pat is 66. We are neither able to lift that kind of weight at the same time we learned the truck is 70 or 75 feet long. We live on a two lane road with a small bridge (ten ton limit) it is almost impossible for the truck to cross the bridge and not tear up someone's property,

We, again call the company and explained that is most impossible for us to honor the contract. We were told if we cancelled the order that we would lose our down pa;yment and that we would be expedted to pay an additional $1250 for damages.

I got a magnifier down and read the contract and they expect us to get someone to sample the ground where the building would set or the warranty would not be honored. If the truck damage anything or got stuck it was our responsiblilty, If the panels got damaged in transit we would have to sue the carrier, Also the bottom frame was extra, If the truck couldn't get across the bridge they would drop the parts at a parking lot somewhere, We just want our money back and these people stopped from taking advange of other people please. Thank you

Don
