Complaint Review: Usight Homeinc Brand Anderson - Orem Utah

After viewing a TV advertisement about an Internet seminar in NYC, I called and signed up to attend the seminar. The seminar took place in Manhattan on 9/26/02. After completing the seminar, i found myself sitting at a table, being asked to sign incomplete contracts that would be completely filled out later. I was told not worry because the money was fully refundable if later on, I decided to cancel. Only at the time, I wasn't advised that later on meant within 3 business days. I signed up for: -A website design package of $399 -A search engine submission of $99 -An annual Internet hosting fee of $39/mth -An EBBA enrolment fee of $49 and $29.94 quarterly -An order form for a merchant account of $3238.20 -An Internet payment gateway $29.95 -A travel membership fee of $50 -A merchant bankcard application Within the next few days i read all the materials to fully understand how to build my website and start my online business. This is where the nightmare began. Every time I called Usight to inquire about design features that were advertised as part of my package, I was told that I actually needed to upgrade, translate spend a few more hundred dollars. The support that was promised was definitely not there. The staff either was not knowledgeable about the design software, or pretended not to be. They wanted to frustrate you as much as possible until you gave in and upgraded to the more expensive package. They were extremely rude and simply didn't want to help, which was a clear breach of contract. Whenever I called for help, it was a hit and miss approach to resolving the problem, and they constantly got annoyed when I tried to get specific answers on how to build my website. In almost every call, they would suggest to me that I upgrade my package and let on of their website designers do the site for me. After two weeks of this, despite all my efforts, I was unable to build the website and I just had enough and so, on 10/16/02 I sent a letter to Usight informing them that I would no longer be associated with them, and demanded that they refunded my credit card immediately because they were in breach of contract as they failed to provide me with the assistance necessary for me to successfully build my site. I also demanded that they cancel my application for the merchant account which at the time I still had not received, and demanded that they stop charging my credit card once and for all for services that I had never used or even activated. I was successful in getting my credit card company to stop the monthly hosting fee. However Usight is still charging my credit card for all the other charges even though: I didn't receive the help that would have allowed me to build my website ($399)There were no search engine submission done by Usight($99)I never even activated the merchant account ($3238) I had cancel the EBBA membership on 10/01/02 with Norma (NO LONGER THERE OR MAYBE NEVER EXISTED) at Usight billing ($158) They weren't even able to obtain me a business credit card So I really do need your help. I am a new mother and was looking for an opportunity to make some extra income to care for my child. Instead, Usight put me in $4000 debt and nothing to show for it. My credit is being ruined and I need your help to expose Brandt Anderson and the other scam artists who work for him. El NY, New York
