I am pulling my hair out in frustration because of USIS.The entire report is not even my background, none of it.And these companies believe them without question."Your a cocaine dealer we don't hire those".I had to have a check done through homeland security for hazmat and passed ,but because USIS says I have charges, I do.Over Two months without a job trying to fix this. The people At USIS could care less.they are rude and of no help.I asked one USIS rep," does this happen often? She said "all the time". Something needs to be done.Lawyers can't do anything.Because of there incompetence I am guilty until proven innocent.

If you have protested the fact that USIS is divulging information that is blatantly false then you need to get busy and file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). You cab do this online. Google "FTC", click on the first referenced page, then scroll to the bottom of the page and find "contact us." Click on the link for the "secure complaint form." Be precise, to the point, and offer all remedies to date that you have tried to get this false information removed from USIS's databases. Hopefully, you have some documentation that proves you have made formal attempts of protest and demands to have it removed. Oral conversations are worthless. Written correspondence is gold. When dealing with USIS or any other consumer reporting agency, you always need to correspond by mail, and always send your correspondence by certified mail, return receipt requested. Keep copies of all written correspondence. Write down dates, times, and the name of the person you speak with at USIS when dealing with them by phone. If you have not done so, you need to sit down and write up a letter to USIS, stating specifically that they are dispensing unverified and incorrectly attributed information and that it is currently causing you financial harm. Demand that it be removed from their databases and that letters of correction be sent to all parties that the false information has been released to. A two month battle, if properly documented, is grounds for a nice little lawsuit. You might consider consulting a civil attorney as soon as possible to seek compensation for the financial harm that they have caused you.
