VACATION PROPERTY SHOP / SMART WEB VACATION Company works together with a company named Smart Web Vacations. Smart Web sells you access to their website for all these supposed great deals they can offer you and then convince you to pay for it by selling you existing timeshares of you own any. VACATION PROPERTY SHOP / SMART WEB VACATION Company works together with a company named Smart Web Vacations. Smart Web sells you access to their website for all these supposed great deals they can offer you and then convince you to pay for it by selling you existing timeshares of you own any. Show you fakes checks with a percentage of the value of your existing timeshares to use. Once you sign all the paperwork Vacation Property Shop calls you requesting broker fee $3000 to wire only in cash of course. After which they advise they are ready to liquidate your timeshares. Then the week they are supposed to send payment they call and say Mexican law requires you pay 16%VAT tax. Once you pay that they tell you payment will be made to you within 2 days of receipt. Well here comes pay day and no money yet...surprise surprise another call now saying they cannot make payment cause they need 5% luxury tax, all of which they claim will be reimbursed. That's when we finally realized this was all a scam $9,000 in the hole later. SMART WEB Vacations does nothing to help you out..why?...oh because they are in on it. Beware of this company when visiting Playa Del Carmen. Mind you these are Americans running this..All speak perfect English. Names are Sarah Wilford, Edward Harris, Jeff Bridges, Megan Cohen..wow. These two companies are timeshare scams and work together. Be very careful.
