VANDERBILT MORTGAGE AND FINANCE CORP Rude ridiculous acting bill collectors MARYVILLE Tennessee
Hello everyone,
My husband and I bought our mobile home in 2000 from Oakwood Acceptance Corp. When we were with them we were only 2 payments ever behind, then we were able to take advantage of missing a payment, by putting it on the end of our loan. Since that were had to move our payment at the end of the month b/c all of our bills are due between the 1-15 of each month , so we starting sending our payment in at the end of each month, (but before the last day of the month to keep it off of our credit report).
That was always fine with oakwood , to the point that they would call to even set it up around the 25th , but with Vanderbilt they don't care about your other bills, even if it means your child doesn't eat for that week. BUT when I had my phone shut off at my house I made the biggest mistake ever was giving them my cell phone to get in touch with me. They would call my cell about est 10x's a day. when I got my phone back in my home I asked them to not call the cell # and to take it out of the computer.Mind u this happened in FEB. and they just stopped using it a week ago.
I left rude greetings with the business name not to call and then I CALLED THEM AND TOLD THEM IF THEY DIDN'T QUIT CALLING MY CELL, THAT I WAS GONNA FORWARD ALL MY CELL BILLS TO MICHELL IN COLLECTIONS AND THAT VANDERBILT WAS TO PAY MY BILL IF THEY CONTIINUED TO CALL IT, B/C I HAD ASKED THEM SEVERAL TIMES TO JUST CALL MY HOUSE AFTER 7PM THAT I WOULD BE HOME.
THAT STILL WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH, FOR THEM TO KNOW EXACTLY WHEN I WOULD BE HOME TO CALL. WELL NEEDLESS TO SAY AFTER MY THREAT THEY NOW CALL THE HOME PHONE. THEY ARE A BOTHERSOME COMPANY TO US B/C THEY START CALLING ON THE 3 AND DON'T STOP UNTIL THE 30TH, BUT I DON'T CARE HOW OR WHEN THEY GET, MY PAYMENT B/C IT IS ALWAYS THERE BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH AND IT DOESN'T GO AGAINST OUR CREDIT . SO REMEMBER THAT GUYS, PAY YOUR PAYMENT BEFORE THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH AND THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO U B/C U ARE NOT 30DAYS LATE UNTIL THE 1ST OF THE NEXT MONTH .
wE HAD ALSO WANTED TO KNOW HOW MUCH OUR PAY OFF WAS SINCE WE HAD OWNED IT FOR ALMOST 5 YEARS. i CALLED THEM AND THEY TOLD ME I OWED JUST AS MUCH AS I DID THE DAY I SIGNED THE CONTRACT, SO I STARTED GATHERING ALL INFORMATION SUCH AS CREDIT REPORTS THAT WERE UP TO DATE AND OUR CONTRACT AND I ENDED UP PROVING THAT WE OWED 3,000 DOLLARS LESS THAN WHAT THEY WERE SAYING.....
THANK GOD FOR MY CREDIT REPORT THAT IS WHAT HELPED ME FROM GETTING RIPPED OFF OUR 3 GRAND. SO DON'T FEEL BAD EVERYONE VANDERBILT IS A PAIN IN OUR a*s TOO. SO NOW DOT EVERY "I" AND CROSS ALL "T" WITH THIS COMPANY. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE.

Hi all treated terribly by Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance....Clayton Homes and other finance companies connected with them...NETWORK!!! You first asked about FTC...look up their web site and they have an area to report complaints!! Secondly, log all calls that you feel are numbers connected to them. Patti of OH, you have cell phone records....There are at least 6 numbers I have dealt with since they took over (CLAIMED) our account (was with Oakwood until Oakwood went bankrupt.) You sure must have some great evidence there for phone harassment!!! Go to their web site www.vmf.com then go to the "contact us" button. There is a page to fill in your info. and then your "REQUEST FOR COPIES OF YOUR ORIGINAL MORTGAGE APPLICATION, ORIGINAL LOAN CONTRACT, INSURANCE PAPERS (MIGHT BE HOMEOWNERS AND LIFE INS.)(You NEED to compare your paperwork to their copies.) Keep asking until they send! You will get replica of your request stating they will answer within two business days. (COPY OFF EVERY PIECE OF PAPER YOU GET FROM THEM---FROM INTERNET OR OTHERWISE!)make HARD COPIES AS WELL FOR LEGAL PURPOSES. BE SURE TO STUDY EVERY OUNCE OF THE PAPERWORK COPIES THEY SEND---IF YOU CAN READ THEM---CHANCES ARE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO READ AT ALL. GO BACK TO THEIR WEB SITE AND REQUEST READABLE COPIES..THAT UNTIL YOU GET SUCH PLUS HAVING THE PHONE HARASSMENT STOPPED, YOU WILL BE IN DISPUTE OF THEIR CLAIM TO YOUR ACCOUNT. SIGN WITH RESPECT. Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. They are trying to foreclose on my home over 1 payment behind. I had a lawyer look over my contract and he said what they are doing is wrong and we need to file a class action law suit. But I don't know how to go about that. Please let me know if you have a suggestion.
