I recently LOST EVERYTHING I own in a house fire, so I called verizon and told them I needed to cancel my service with them since I am now homeless, I rented the house and did not have renters insurance. The supervisor I spoke with was named April, I told her what had happened and she asked if I wanted to just transfer my service to a new place. Well I said fine if I get a new place that has verizon in the neighborhood. She then informed me I would be charged for the set top boxes that were lost in the fire. SERIOUSLY???? I just lost all of mine and my daughters possesions and your going to charge me for something that a multi billion dollar company can just write off as an accidental loss?? I dont have a pot to piss in or any money, and verizon thinks Im going to pay 700 dollars a piece for 1 DVR and a standard set top box. GUESS WHAT! Im NEVER going to give verizon another penny. I will never use ANY of their services again in my life. The supervisor April was so rude and heartless about my situation it infuriated me. I asked her how she would feel if her company tried doing that to her if she were in my shoes and she said "I dont have an opinion", YEAH RIGHT! last I checked every human on the planet has an opinon!! Guess what verizon, you lost a customer for LIFE!!!!! I have to replace EVERYTHING I lost in the fire, and verizon thinks their getting paid by me for burned up DVRs??? Please, lets be real here. Good luck getting it, I might have even considered trying to give a little back if they had any sympathy for what happened and offered me something or even tried telling their corporate office about my situation. but nooooooooooo. If thats the way verizon does business and thinks about their customers Ill go to direct tv or dish when Im back on my feet and not homeless anymore.
