Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I found a certain phone number on my bill repeated over and over (777-000-0001), so my husband went out to the local Verizon store to ask them about it. This number was partly the reason that we went over our minutes this one month (December 2008).

They told my husband that whenever a person sends or receives a picture text message it uses minutes on the phone part of the account under the above number.

I pay $10.00 extra a month to have unlimited picture and video messaging. Verizon NEVER told us that even though I pay $10.00 a month for unlimited messaging, that the company still charges minutes when we receive or send a picture over the phone.

I feel that, (1) they mis-represented themselves by not explaining the details of this policy and, (2) they are charging us double for one service.

I feel that since I am paying extra to have the unlimited picture and video messaging and I feel it is unfair for them to also charge minutes and use up some of our minute allotments for the month for this service that is supposed to be "unlimited." They do not use up the minutes for text message, only for picture messages.

We had an overcharge of over 75.00 one month partly because of these minutes used up by the 777-000-0001 number. I believe that Verizon should be sued in a class action lawsuit for this mis-representation and they should not be allowed to charge us double for these services.

"This number was partly the reason that we went over our minutes this one month (December 2008). They told my husband that whenever a person sends or receives a picture text message it uses minutes on the phone part of the account under the above number." This is incorrect - I've been a customer service rep with VZW for over a year. I can tell you're on the America's Choice plan. I'm sorry you were given the wrong information, but that number is actually used when someone on your account connects to the internet, or uses anything that connects to the internet (IE: Vcast downloads/mobile IM/mobile web, etc. "I pay $10.00 extra a month to have unlimited picture and video messaging." That's also incorrect, the $10 package is unlimited IN-Network (between verizon phones), and 500 outside (to any other carrier). "I feel that, (1) they mis-represented themselves by not explaining the details of this policy and, (2) they are charging us double for one service." Have you read your contract? Most things are listed under there that people will have a problem with. That paperwork you filled out when you were at the store, or the box you checked online saying that you read the pages of EULA? It's all there. "I believe that Verizon should be sued in a class action lawsuit for this mis-representation and they should not be allowed to charge us double for these services." Vitriolic response to not reading your own contract, standard procedure. :) By the way, you can't sue VeriZon Wireless, you signed that away when you signed your contract - you do have the right to a third party mediation however, involving lawyers. Also, I recommend not listening to what the stores say, or even letting them touch your account. Most of the problems customers have, is due to incompetence at the store - proration and overages due to on demand plan changes, accounts with wrong features and plans, etc. This is, sadly, because the store is focused on one thing: Sales. (Sadface) Anyhow, sorry you were given the wrong info. Hugs and pats on the back!
