I singed up for verizonwireless in september 28,2003 I got home but did not work at my home a few months later I had to go in for a problem with ther service they replaced the phone. which that did no good because it was still the same. I called the verizonwireless toll free number they created a trouble ticket number. I her once from them then it was still the same. my phone would go from 1 bar to no service.on february 12,2005 I called verizon wireless about the problem they created another trouble ticket still after they contacted me about it they didnt fix the issue so I had no other chopice to switch to another service provider. I realized that nextel works in my area the best so I went with them and I have had no problems with them at all. but I think verizon wireless should consider doing something about my area having no service with verizon wireless

FCC Regulations

I worked for VZW technical support for a while and I understand your frustration. I wanted to give you some insight on what can happen for areas. The FCC strictly regulates what cellular companies can operate in a given area and are given licenses to build towers in these areas. Verizon Wireless employees are given a tool that allows them to see the coverage area for a location ( that isn't 100% accurate- but is very close to). Some people live on what is called a "fringe-area" meaning that service is meshed between verizon wireless and another carrier so you may or may not have coverage. Honestly, if you went into a verizon wireless store, this is something the sales rep should have disclosed to you. Verizon Wireless has a 15-day worry free guarantee stating that if you are not satisfied with your service or equipment, you are able to return it and disconnect your service without any worries of an early termination fee. The only thing you are responsible for would be the time you had used and made calls to and from the cell phone. The purpose of the trouble ticket would be to have a technician go to the area in question and check the coverage, and the resolution to the trouble ticket is normally posted with the tech support rep within 48 hours. With what you said, it sounds like the Nextel was able to work in your area (which to me sounds like Nextel holds the licenses for your area to sell service). In other words, if that is the case, Verizon Wireless will not be able to do anything about the coverage in your area.

Verizonwireless has a 15 day worry free guarantee that you can return your equipment and cancel service within 15 days of original activation. When you got home and realized you didn't have service, you could have saved a lot of trouble by just returning the equipment!! ALSO! service cannot be guaranteed in buildings, how are we supposed to get signal past a metal frame or roof??? this isn't a RADIO signal!

What does this have to do with the compaq extended warranty? (It's in your title.)
