Verizon wireless False overage charges Nationwide
Verizon wireless charged me for 12GB of data they say was used on my account in 1 day, i have vever used 12GB of data in a month much less in a day!
I have had verizon wireless internet for 3 plus years and use about 8 GB of data per month.
I asked them to check the usage on their end because it has to be a mistake since i only use 8Gb per month and wasn't even home on the day in question and didn't have any new devises on the internet and had my phones with me at the time.
All i get was a offer of $20 discount, they said it is a ligitamite charge and i had to pay, what a ripoff!

Sorry but it just sounds like YOUR wifi got hacked!!!If that is the case then YOU ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE!!! Someone near you figured out YOUR password and used the data. NOT A RIPOFF!!!! YOU are still responsible when this happens. Its YOUR device, YOUR security protocals. WHile unpleasant it is the cost of having a weak password or giving your password out to other people. VERY COMMON to give a freind your wifi password and they sit outside your home downloading to thier devices. Many times the simplest solution is the correct one. In this case, since you claim to NOT have your devices on the wifi and that YOU didnt use the data AT THAT TIME, suggests a hack. Unpleasant but NOT Verizon ripping YOU off. Its no different then someone using YOUR electricity. or YOUR water. YOU are the one that pays for it NO MATTER WHO USES IT!!! Make your wifi hotspot password STRONGER!!! Use capitol letters and numbers to make your password. A STRONG password will keep other people from accessing YOUR wifi.
