I wanted to write another response on here because I got more information for you. I talked with my wife and she said that certain phones do require, if not the internet, at least some type of data package, such as texting, v-cast, or other such programs. So, again if you truly don't need or want the internet or any of these other applications there are certainly plenty of other phones that you could get that would not require these services. And if you have been with them for 2 years you should be close to being eligible for their new every 2 program. You can upgrade or downgrade, whichever you prefer, your phone at a discount rate.
If you go into your local store they may be able to help advice you on what service plan would be best for you and your needs and which phones would be included in those plans. Although before you do buy another phone you may want to go on their website, after talking to someone about different plans and phones, because sometimes you can get discounts and rebates that are taken off the price right when you order instead of having to mail it in. And you might be able to get these at deeper rates than what you could in the store. I hope this helps.

Get a different phone. What's the point of having a blackberry if you're not going to have internet service? The whole point of having such a high tech phone is so you can not only use the internet but all kinds of applications that would require internet service. I have been with Verizon for 10 years and honestly your bill is not that unreasonable for the type of phone and the type of service that you describe.
My wife works for Verizon and although she does not deal with customers, she works with the bills before they go out. She tells me the average monthly bill is at least $150 a month. You are not being ripped off. I'm not going to say that you are being unreasonable because I don't know you or exactly how the conversations have gone, I just wanted to give you some advice from a satisfied customer that's dealt with the company for several years not just a couple.
Of course just like with all companies it depends on who you talk to, but I have had situations where they have gone out of their way to help me keep my bill under control. My dad died very suddenly and unexpectedly several years ago now and my phone number was the main contact number for a lot of family coming in from out of town. My bill for that month was almost $300. I explained the situation and while I had to agree to renew my service contract for another two years they knocked it down by at least 50%.
I don't know what all you use your phone for, except for making phone calls of course, but you may want to consider this. If you don't need the internet than, at least in my vewpoint, there is no need to have such a "techy" phone.
