I paid $9.99 to do a VIN search on a car I owned. This car was in an accident and totaled by the insurance company. I was trying to track down the salvage yard that had my car so I could buy a part from it. I hit a dead end and decided to pay for the VIN report. It was a total waste of money. Not only did the report not have any info on the whereabouts of my car, the info that was on there was old and outdated. Important details regarding the accident, damage, etc were not in the report. If you can get a free carfax report, do it, you'll get much more info and way more up to date than VINreport. Vinreport had nothing of value to offer and you might as well flush you $9.99.

Well, it turns out they didn't charge me $9.99. I checked my bank statement and they ended up charging me $24.99. Of course, I'm going to dispute this. Buyer Beware!!!
