Vivint APX Contract Entrapment Provo, Utah
My mother signed up for a 36 month contract with Vivint (formerly APX), the month the contract was over I called to cancel and was told that since she did not send written notice 30 days prior to contract end she must renew for an entire year - NO EXCEPTIONS. I have reported the company to the BBB, FTC, and the Utah Attorney General. I have read multiple reviews that this has happened to others as well - I feel it is entraptment and am requesting this company's business practices be reviewed by the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General.
If Utah's Attorney General will not investigate I will ask my states Attorney Gerneral to investigate. If you have had similar negative experiences with this company you feel are illegal, immoral, bad business practice, etc.. and you have no luck getting resolution from the company - you may want to contact these agencies as well. The more people that complain - the more this company might rethink their business practices. You can fill out forms online for the BBB, FTC and Utah Attorney General. I am waiting on a call from the Attorney General this week and will update my responses from him. Please respond to this comment if you have any questions.
