Volkswagen Of America Horrible customer service and not caring for car Macon Georgia
I purchased my 2001 VW Jetta/wolfburg edition in June of 2001. I loved the handling of the car and just fell in love with the look.
After driving SEVERAL other cars, I chose the Jetta. It was getting good reviews by car and driver at the time.
I received the customer care package/free service for a certain amount of miles with this car...and well I should have!!
My car has been visiting the car service department way too much.
The latch on the arm rest in the front broke within a month of purchasing my car. The service department informed me that this was not under warranty and I would have to replace this myself.
The coating on the dash and shifting column is flaking off.
The front flares out, to which the tech person informed me was my fault. I have done nothing to cause this. The funny thing, I see the same problem on a lot of Jetta running around.
The front grill had to be replaced.
I tried to use my coupons at first, and the service guy told me it was not necessary. I was sure to make the service tech. sign my owners manual. I finally used the coupons...and a good thing, since it affects the warranty of the car.
Lately, after the warranty had worn off...my car has been up there at least 3 times the past 2 months and still struggles in the mornings and after sitting a while. The check engine light has flickered on and off, too.
October 9, 2003...check engine light was on (they couldn't tell me why...)The light was reset...nothing fixed.
September 9, 2003...check engine light was on and the car runs like it is choking down. They claim if was due to dampness...
August 19, 2003..front window won't go up...so they are replaced.
August 1, 2003...maintenance done...no mention of engine problems. Engine light had come on.
