The equipment was too difficult for me to install, so I did not install it. Several months -- and many tries later -- I called to cancel. I explained to the young lady that I had been unable to install the equipment, had paid some months for the serice, had not used it, and now wanted to cancel. She informed me that they had a $39.95 cancellation fee. I did not think that was fair. She told me to read the contract. When I protested, she said, "I always read every word of a contract which I sign." Needless to say, the conversation went downhill from there.
The cancellation fee is not in their advertisements and is not, I believe, a matter of common knowledge. I feel that a cancellation fee as a result of inability to use a service is fair.
