I seen Vontages add saying 24.99 a month for phone service 24 hours long distance and it seemed cheaper than comcast as I was paying 45.00 a month.

On June 16th, they sent me the box, and then I tried to hook-up and I talked to people in technical support, for days using my cell phone, and going to another place to use the their phone line, and still not working and then they said, to keep trying, and changed the cost to 14.99 to keep, me and I said, I just want to give the system back.

For 2 months all phone calls to them and trying to cancel the service and send their stuff back they would send me to ever time to the 3rd person and then the phone would go dead, sometimes it was over 2 hours on the phone.

finally, August 3 got my phone line in with Verizon, and called again, to Vontage to cancel, and then they said, it was okay, because my number had been transferred to verizon.

I have a bill for 21.54, 18.84, and then recieved a e-mail with my last bill disconnect charges, etc. for 118.79, and they said, I could still get a copy of my calls I have made with them, ya right, tried for 4 days to hook the system up and then now way, and now since Verizon took my number they let me cancel, on 8-18-08, interesting since Verizon took the number on Aug 3rd.

The only way you can get hooked-up with Vontage is by using a credit card, and so now they have all these charges on it.

Stay away from Vontage phone service and anything else.

The company is VONAGE, not VONTAGE. You could at least get the company name correct when reporting them. Geeeezzzz.

I couldn't even USE my phone for my "free" month of service and they wouldn't cancel my account before the trial ended and then charged me and wouldn't refund the money. $42. I wish a class action for false advertising would happen b/c I would jump on it in a heart beat. THEN they tried to charge me for the equipment that I sent BACK, saying I couldn't return it and then it was I didn't HAVE to return it. I cancelled that debit card to prevent them from taking the money from my account. I didn't know what else to do. It was horrible phone service, horrible customer service by people that could barely speak English and comprehend what I was saying. Like you I tried everything to get it to work and never could. Then I had to set up a whole new phone service b/c the VioP service couldn't be transferred back to a reg phone line. I HATE Vonage and will bad mouth them to anyone I can.
