This is a warning to all consumers: If you need to open a checking account, do yourself a favor and go to any other bank besides Wachovia. I have now filed a claim on lawyersandsettlements.com; I have written to their president; I have contacted my local news--WFTV-Orlando, and the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. I do my checking account online every day, and I have printouts from both my accounts which prove that EVEN WHEN I HAD ENOUGH MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT, Wachovia somehow contrived a way to charge me $410 in overdraft fees, when each account clearly had enough money in it.

Thank God I had enough money elsewhere to open accounts at a new bank. WACHOVIA IS COMMITTING A FORM OF LEGALIZED THEFT, and there is no other way to describe it. They must be stopped. Vote with your feet and open your accounts anywhere but there.

Good news update....I guess the thieves at Wachovia finally got scared enough when I wrote a letter to the president, and within that letter I mentioned that I had reported them in four highly conspicuous venues: 1. Here at ripoffreport.com; also at 2.) ; 3.) with Channel 9 in Orlando consumer investigation team; and 4.) the Orlando Sentinel newspaper consumer advocate department. It took Wachovia about two weeks after they got this letter from me to the President's office, but they credited my two checking accounts. If you want to play hardball with them, do the same and write to the President's Office at this address: Office of the President, Wachovia Bank, 301 S. College St., Charlotte, NC 28288. Has anyone noticed how they just bought out a company for 26 Billion dollars? Those of us who have been ripped off by them know where they are getting a large source of their income from! FIGHT BACK AND WIN! CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report.
