I had an emergency room bill of 768.00 that was sent to this collections agency. Long story short, EVERY time I've talked with them over the last 3 months they are rude, demanding, snide, and very quick to point out the fact that I didn't pay my bill and this is what I deserve. I noticed that my bill wasn't going down as much as it should have been so I called them and they very rudely told me that interest was accumulating and thats what would happen unless I paid in full. First of all, if I couldn't pay to begin with and I can barely afford 50.00 increments now, what makes them think I could afford their interest as well?? I asked Marcel this and she very rudely told me that I shouldn't be complaining about a mere 8% interest accumulating DAILY. At this point due to her attitude and almost humerous tone with me I got a little heated and demanded to speak with her supervisor. This woman is like this EVERY time I've spoken with her. After waiting on hold for several minutes I'm transferred to her "manager" Art Bellepondo, and he tells me that none of this would be if I had paid my bill. I'm sorry, but that's already very obvious and I don't need a smug "supervisor" advising me on MY financial obligations ESPECIALLY when their institution and their interest is making it difficult to keep up with my bills. He sat on the phone and talked over me and yelled while I cursed at him and needless to say we got nowhere for about 15 minutes and at the end he began laughing at how upset I was getting and kept telling me to keep speaking to the recorder and laughing and snidely telling me to have a great day. All I wanted was to question their "interest"-rip-off- and I got lectured on how to keep up with my bills and laughed at. Good job wakefield and associates.
