Basically, I only use Walgreens as a convience due to higher prices, they are rude usually. They misplaced my narcotic which I fill there on a timely basis and would not fix their problem, they have now dicrimination against me, said I am lying, I did pick it up. I have filed a police report, contacted a lawyer, I have been harassed, caused severe pain and suffering and someone behind the counter will account for my medication and take care of my record, they used my refill the next day to "fix the problem", and in turn have caused more problems. now not only is it a medication issue, it is an issue with the way I was treated by all in management, all in pharmacy and in the corporate office, as if I am trying to get them and get more medicine, it is a big mess and it has only just begun.!!! All I wanted was my record fixed but now it has gone to far.

Tramadol/Ultram For Chronic Pain?????

#4UPDATE Employee

Sun, November 26, 2006

Tramadol is NOT a CII. It is not even a controlled substance. At Walgreens, in Indiana, no one signs for anything when you pick up the script (NO MATTER WHAT THE CLASS). Just need to verify the address on file. We only require valid ID at drop-off for a controlled substance. That is it. I work for Walgreen Pharmacy. This stuff happens all the time by drug-seekers. "What? I didn't pick up my script!" Whatever.

To Peter, with regards to "drug seeking", at times it is best to know about what you are discussing. Obviously, as the next comment stated, you have no idea how pain management works. She spoke the truth with regards the policies and how strict they are giving moer medication before time due. Yes, I took care of the issue but it took action on my part, not the pharmacist, to contct my doctor, to deliver papers to my physician for proof to place in my file. He too thought it was wrong both ethically and against he law but he said that due to what it was that the state board would not investigate it any further, I think, Paul, you need to read the entire post, step by stept to see how a former customer of Walgreens was treated. For you to judge others is so wrong in my eyes, do you feel better when you do these things. I have read several post this evening discussing this same issue, loosing medication, and also about the pharmacy staff being rude in trying to help. I wonder and have to belive that it is true that all these "mistakes" are not mistakes!!!!! My fear was taht, yes, it was ultram, but what if it happened on my stronger meds!!!! I do feel that I should not have been kicked out of our store in Claremoree, mind you, six months after this incidnet, due tp my raising my voice when it happened. I feel Walgreens needs to slow down, read the label correctly, take care of each customer as a person and not cattle. I will not step foot in any WAlgreenns and for them they are loosing a good custoemr, each trip averaging around 100.00. The employees at the Claremore store are great, event the one in the pharmacy, Ben, the leading pharmacist and Todd, the store mamanger are the main problems, I want to write a letter to the editor of our paper but have been told they would not publish it. I have gone as far as the regional manager and even his boss, no help, WHAT ABOUT THE LITTLE MAN!!!!

Obviously you are not a chronic pain patient. When you are being treated by a pain specialist in a pain clinic, you are told that your prescriptions are your responsibility. You will not get any replacement prescriptions if you misplace a prescription. I was told that he did not care if it was stolen, the dog ate it or it was burned up in a house fire, YOU WILL NOT GET A REPLACEMENT PRESCRIPTION AND YOU WILL NOT GET MORE MEDICATION UNTIL YOUR NEXT REFILL DATE. Pain specialist and pharmacies issuing controlled substances are not very fun to deal with and on top of it all, you are already beat down from pain and no one will help you. You are made to feel that you are a criminal just because you have to take pain killers.

Funny, I hear people complain of such situations all the time. These are people who are "drug seekers" (aka addicts) who pretend to have not received their medication in order to get more and more without the appropriate authorization. Had this situation really occurred as you claim it had, all you would have had to do was contact your doctor and get another prescription, and this time have it filled while you wait. I believe that you are full o' baloney!

Narcotic?

I am a pharmacy technician and have been one for close to 20 years. Tramadol -brand name Ultram- is NOT a controlled substance, and NEVER has been in this country. Other countries I can't speak for. A Schedule II narcotic, such as Oxycontin, is very tightly controlled. Ultram is not a Controlled Substance, I can assure you. It is considered a Legend Drug. Which means it can only be obtained with a prescription. Unless you get it through the internet. It is not considered even moderately addictive by the DEA or the FDA.

Tramadol is not a narcotic

This from an article published 03/09/06, might explain some of your confusion, as tramadol is NEITHER a narcotic NOR a controlled substance in the U.S.: "Tramadol has been on the market in Germany since 1977 and in the US since 1995. Tramadol is not regulated as a controlled substance in either country; there have been no changes in scheduling status based on experience with this drug in these two countries since it was first introduced there. The international scheduling profile for tramadol does not support a recommendation that tramadol be scheduled as a controlled substance."

I have never had to sign for anything at Walgreens and I am on pain management and take narcotics, fiilled every month, before this happened I usually filled there while I shopped. At all other pharmacies I have always had to sign for sudafed let alone a narcotic and tramadol is now considered a schedule 2 narcotic. I am just glad this was not my daily pain medication I take every twelve hours, it would hAve been hard to replace, if I could as they say I picked it up. I am just wondering if other customers are having this trouble, have had their medication shorted and just kept their mouth shut, I hope my stepping forward regarding this issue will bring others forward, I have worked with drug addicts at a methadone clinic, where I was a counselor for a year and several of the addicts worked at a pharmacy and had access to drugs, I have heard stories of what is done to get their drugs, how the customer was used as a front. If I was a pharmacy manager I would want to know about the issues with my customers, want to find out what happened to the medicine, any medicinem, if they are stealing this what wlse are they taking? I would care about the customer and the employee if they need help with their addiction if this is indeed what happened. Again all I anm asking is that thei fix their mistake, fix my record showing I did not pick up this medication two days in a row and apologize. I actually now have to get a lawyer to get this done, what a mess.

Thanks for the info, it seems like me, the pharmacy knows you well, due to my medical problems they see me alot. In your case it seems that the pharmacist assisted you in contacting the police, he did not and will not assist me wth anything. Utram is now considered a scheduele two narcotic, used not to be but is now, I do not care of it was pennicilan, the meds are gone and they will not investigate, the police are another story, mind this happened two months ago and she has only contactd me once for two minute conversattion, she said it because I moved, technically we still have two houses, two phones and we technhiclaly live in two places, she tried to say she tried to call, caught her, they he proceds to tell me, after calling her for one week, that the produced a video and it looked like myself and my husband in it, mind you she has never met my husband, he met her that night, sher left pretty fast, I demanded to see the video as she knows where we were, alibis, and on top of all this i am lowincome, i gets meds for 1 and 2 dollars, whatever happenedm, inside job, an honest mistagkei, it was put in as sold as czsh for 48.00. How stupid can one be to think I would go in and pay full price when it acgtually only cost me 1.00 aty this time until our income increses. She had the nerve to take the video back to walgreens without calling me, saying they probably destroyed the video, destroyind evidence, not good on them or her, she has not taliked with anyone but the manager at walgreens not the correct one who screwed this up and/or find out who took it, and go from there. I see a lawyer monday and he is very interested in this case, i am disabled for a few reasons, one being an anuyermsum in in subclaven that is to risky to take out due to my blood clot problem. This type of stress is not needed by anyone, espically me with my medical issues. Basically the policewoman called us liars, has not ivestigate the case to the fullest in teh last 8 to 10 weeks \. she says they do not hyve a problem wih me, I wonder why, I DID NOTHING WRONG, I have been denied servide there, I asm taking a wigtness next tme and try to fill there and see what they say, This situatiohn has made me cry, lucky I have a good docotr, he says it is too much trouble to pursue it, it may have been at first but now they are calling us liars,. to cover for themselves, I wil;l not stand by and watgch this happen to me and maybe someoen else down the road. I khnow their prioces are high, but in a hury and there they are. LIke is said i want gto tgry agan to see what they tell me this time with a witness. BY THE WAY ALWAYS COUNNT YOUR PILLS BEFORE LEAVING THE COUNTER, AT LEAST OPEN THE BAG, IF YOU ARE UNSURE, I KNOW OF FIVE TIMES WHERE I WAS SHORTHANDED OR MY FRIENDS WERE, IF YOU LEAVE THE COUNTER, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THEIR MISTAKE, THEY WILL NOT FIX SAYING COMPUTERS NEVER MAKE A MISTAKE, BUT HUMANS DO!!! I get several meds, some of which are haerder narcotis and used to get them there due to convience and i loved shopping there, if it had ben a stronger natcotic, my doctor would have caled for me to the state pharmacy board to repor them. Maybe there is nothihng I can do but I do want my record fixd , myself and my docor, he has gteh paperwork showing their mistake to CYA and so do I. It is geting better as it goes due to destroying evidence, sloppy police work, and part of this is Claremore is not a big city, it is a good sized town with a walmart, drug warehouse and A WALGREEMS@@@@ we feel she mighgt have her hands tied in dealing with them. ONE MOFE THING, my provile now always says see ID. NO MATTER WHAT unless I authorize a chnage. Why do the not have a backup sysgtem tgfo see who system to see who signs for meds, good sgtart, and whatg is with calling out our name, address and phone number and the name of the medicine, this i nobody s business. If indeed this was someone coming in and buying the mediciene that is missing, maybe gthey overheard them talking to me earlier. I do not know what ha9pped but I want my record fixed and any nasty comments taken off my accoun t. I know there has to be some. At times when I pick up on sgtrong meds, I run out too soon, this is when i was todl to count narcotics espically due to the corruption at walgreens. DID YOU HAVE TO FIND A LAWYER OR WERE THEY NICE FROM THE BEGINNING, I KNOW WENT TO THE POLICE, THEY HELP YOU OR DID YOU DO YOUR OWN LEGWORK. THIS MJAY NOT BE AS BIG AS TULSA BUT IS BIG ENOIUGH NOT TO LET THIS HAPPEN.

If the scripts fall into certain classes, they must be signed for, by law. Who signed for the script?

years ago in 2001 Someone stolemy identity and even today she still crops up I have a hmo and but I fill my dentist refills at my local pharmacy, I did ebverything I was told red flagged my accounts, filed a police report, and notified my creditors, and credit cards, having said that, just last week someone went into my pharmacy and tried to fill a script for vicodine, this person does not look at all like me, My pharmacist called the police after contacting the physician who supossedly wrote it and the police took MY DMV photo to the pharmacy and asked if it was me, luckily, I have been there so much he KNEW it wasn't me and called me himself to alert me, that someone was posing as me. He said she had a drivers liscense so good the cops said it was the best they have ever seen, so see if the police can get your phot ID and take it to the pharmacist that the script was picked up from or review store tapes,( they put in their computers who sold it I know this becuase I was a nurse, they have to)She suspected something was up and ran. so by filing a police report you have been reported as the victim of identity theft or prescription theft, in our state they have ot show an ID to pick up narcotics I would suggest you try to get that info and see if your name was on the signature for it.I wish you luck, I have been waiting years for them to catch this girl. Also, this could affect you medically as youur dr.might think you are abusing your narcotics, and you certainly do not need that. GOOD LUCK I WISH YOU WELL!
