Your report says you quit!

And I quote: "he ask me to sign the green slip and i said no and left the job" Please tell me, if you could, how "i left the job" [sic] amounts to a firing. It sounds to me like they said "we're going to fire you" and you said "well you can't, because I quit." And with those words you drove the sword into your own case. If you quit, even though you knew that you were being fired, you have no claim for wrongful termination, because you weren't terminated! You quit before it happened! Furthermore, I know for a FACT that you did not talk to a lawyer that told you that you have a good case. And, on the off chance that I am mistaken, you need to find a new lawyer, because you DO NOT have a good case. You were an at-will employee. This means that you could be terminated at any time for any reason, or even for no reason. Unless you had a contract that gaurunteed your employment for a specified period of time (which is non-existent in Wal-Mart), your employment was "terminable at-will." The only exception to this rule is if discrimination was involved and you are in a "protected cateogory." Do I think this is right? No. But it is the law. And as angry as you are, it ain't gonna change.

It doesn't sound to me like you got fired. It sounds to me like you quit. Good luck with that lawsuit.

#5UPDATE EX-employee responds

hi this is jose again yes i have seen stuff that was out right wrong...i been in stops with lp's and half the time the people they had stop had nothing on them.. they did not steal a dam thing...and the lp would selected something off the shelf and rip it open and say to the police that this is what they had stole......it lp's in charlotte that work for wal-mart and when they catch a shoplifter....the lp's will take money any where from 200.00 dollars to 700.00 dollars from the shoplifter and let them go......when you tell the dlps he say's nothing the only thing they say is keep up the good job...because you are makeing them look good with all the people you are catching.....lp's have to follow the 4 steps befor the can make a stop...if one of those steps are not follow the lp is not allowed to make the stop...and but we do anyway it is a risk... i been in a stop where the shoplifter did nothing wrong and another lp smack him right in his face then hand cuff him....but like i said iam going to give you guy and females all the dirt...they fired me for no reason

That sucks! There is something else there... other former LPs say that this is happening everywhere

Hi Jose! That sucks, I will pray that you get justice and a new job. It seems like there is something else there that they are not telling you. I am sure you know things they do not want you to tell. If I was you, find a good attoreny in work related issues. Also express yourself here. I would like to know if you know of any wrongdoing where LP accuse customers of shoplifting, when in fact the LPs knew they had not done anything. Since you are free from Wal-Mart, many of us would like to know the truth. I have learned from other former LPs that this is happening everywhere. And is a normal trend for LP managers to look good, and do not care how they have destroyed the lives of good people. Look forward to your response.
