Walmart is one of the most openly racist and discriminative stores in the world or at least the Walmart at Gresham Rd. is. I've noticed that out of all the Walmart's I've shopped at, this is the most discriminative store there is.
Every time a paying customer comes to the exit, their bags are searched and the receipt is checked like they're some type of thief and I've noticed, this only happens to the Black customers and only at that location. I've never been stopped in non-black communities. One day I watched a non-black customer approach the exit with their item in their hand and the door attendant allowed him a trusting exit through. Some items that have been checked for me are:
1. Water @ .74 cents
2. Reeses cups @ approximately .50 cents or less
3. Toilet Paper/Paper Towels (6-12 roll packs)
4. Etc.
Keep in mind these are items that are not in a bag and when I attempted to leave through the Automotive Shop to catch Public Transportation with my purchased items in a bag, I was bomb rushed by two Walmart staff to check my bag and receipt like I was some criminal. At that very moment I decided I was tired of this treatment by the Walmart Staff and immediately got a refund of all items purchased that day. The manager actually condoned that behavior from his employees, so I made up my mind to never shop there again at that particular one and all others.
Why put money into an establishment that openly displays Discrimination!

Maybe it's not you they're after. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the management is trying to catch an unscrupulous clerk who is letting their friends through without paying? Alternatively, how many times have you gone through the checkout and forgotten to pay for an item on the bottom of the cart, or something you're holding in your hand? I once left a pet store with a dog leash around my wrist :-) I was comparing a few them, selected the one I wanted and headed for the checkout without even thinking about the one still around my wrist. I actually made it to the car without anyone knowing. I returned to the store and explained what I did, and, fortunately, no one busted me out for accidently "stealing" the leash. It happens.

BTW, if my comments, according to other posters, shouldn't appear on Ripoff Report, then the OP's should stop posting here, leaving themselves exposed to justifiable criticism. I call 'em like I see 'em and other readers are free to form their own opinions.
I'm a firm believer that we pretty much determine our own outcomes in life and work to make mine and the ones around me a positive experience....I think it's been a pretty successful life plan. Somehow, I think some of the posters here would disagree....:)
Lastly, the name callers on Ripoff Report are rank amateurs compared to some other forums.

you (and anyone else) doing this will get stopped and checked. If you absolutely MUST use this means of leaving, be prepared to show your receipt. The employees and the manager were right....they did what they really need to do.
I failed to see this part of your Ripoff Report when I first filed a rebuttal. Yesterday at Home Depot, I was heading for the check outs when customer service said they weren't busy and could check me out. After they did, I went out through the self-service checkouts and produced my receipt for the attendant there...of course if I'd been black, I'd probably have been held at gunpoint and frisked, receipt or not....see how stupid this all sounds?
I haven't changed my thoughts on my original rebuttal, you have a chip on your shoulder and are just looking for a cause.....grow up.

In times like these we get to see who really is full of it. Idiots without experience like to talk like they have some and AUTHOR: Ken - Greeley (USA) our ROR Trolls assumes that he has. He cannot be in every single place at the same time nor in every single store at the same time because every single store has their own experience that is different from another store even if it is the same store the climate is always different for each store!

Anytime one brings up discrimination its like the idiots and the stupid people who obviously are without any sense don't understand that other people can have experiences with discrimination even today and just because you yourself have not faced it does not mean another person has not faced it themselves!

You sound like someone walking around with a huge chip on their shoulder. NO company, Walmart included, operates like this. They would be in serious legal trouble. I don't know what your true agenda is, but I call you a LIAR!! BTW, I don't own any Walmart stock, haven't and don't work for them,
Anytime you walk around expecting to be mis-treated, you tend to make it happen, at least in your view.
