Valerie, I would get on the phone with your nearest and dearest Workman's Comp Attorney and have a consultation with them. First, I would compose a letter to the General Manager of the store you worked in, stating the obvious OSHA violations, and ask them what they are going to do to resolve this situation, asking for response within 10 days time. Send the letter registered, so that you receive the return receipt showing they signed for it. If they do not respond withing that time frame, send another letter, stating that theit obvious refusal to conduct themselves in a proper and professional fashion is leading you to take steps to ensure your rights are not violated any further, send this registered as well. After you send this out, contact the Board of Health, and file a complaint with them regarding the unsanitary working conditions you had to deal with. Then, contact the Labor Board, filing a complaint, as well as the OSHA department. Believe me, when OSHA goes in to check their working environment and fining them for non-compliance, WalMart will be trying to contact you. Under no circumstances what-so-ever let them talk you out of proceeding with your Workman's compa claim. Tell them they had the chance to resolve this when you sent them the first registered letter, and chose not to do the right thing, so they forced your hand into calling your attorney, so they now have to contact said attorney. Good Luck and keep us posted.
