Warner Health Care Aka Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals Delivery of unsolicited product ripoff Cincinnati Ohio
Interesting to see others having the same problems, and I hope we won't end up with a monthly dispute call to our credit card company over this.
My wife saw the Avlimil ad on TV, and things looked reputable enough that I didn't research things before she called to get that "free" $4.50 sample. Silly me.
When she informed the sales rep on the phone that there was no way she wanted to be signed up for the automatic, monthly shipments and billings called "Managed Care Direct", the phone rep objected, but finally acceeded.
However, she never received the sample and thus we were taken by surprise when we got a 60-day supply, and some research showed my credit card had been charged the original $4.50 as well as $70 for the sample.
Since she was insistent that she did NOT want the Managed Care Direct service, it was illegal to sign her up for it, especially since the phone rep did not inform her, as the "Customer Service" reps informed me later, that this was not optional, but a requirement to GET the "free" sample.
Likewise, since the sample product was never received either, it is also illegal to charge the $4.50. A contract requires a service or product to be provided for the fee to be paid!
This is SO unethical, and illegal, it's hard to believe this company is able to stay in business, regardless of whatever manufacturing standards they may have to make sure their products are "pure".
And, while they may be manufactured in a clean environment, there are now starting to be some reports on the web which state quite unequivocally that there is no evidence whatsoever backing up the claims of this company for the Avlimil product, and a lot of evidence that their formulation could, in fact, not have the effects they claim.
Better Business Bureau, here I come!
