Mr. Dan Roades, Ecowater dealer in New Ulm Minnesota, refuses to take responsibility for his company's honest mistake. Furthermore, accuses a consumer, who in 46yrs of life, has NEVER had a grievance against a vendor, of "just trying to get someone else to pay his bills."

We had a Leased water softener installed by Warta Water, currently owned by Dan Roades of New Ulm, Mn. Immediately after having the water softener installed, we began to notice small black granules in our toilet basin and brown water in our faucets. Our dishwasher stopped working. We had a repair man come out....he said the water filter was plugged with residue.

They fixed it......cost us $160. We called a plumbing company....Klassen Plumbing and they informed us after inspection that the water softener "in and out lines" were installed backwards. We called Dan Roades at Ecowater(Warta Water) and he sent out the original installer to check it out. This individual reversed the lines and said it would be "ok... now."

I asked him ....."is this causing our water to our washing machine to run slow?"........he said, "it could, the filter may be plugged from the residue"....I said.." well, u need to clean that then or if I call a plumber I would expect your company to pay for it"...........he promptly unhooked the water line to the washer and cleaned it....basicly admitting by his actions that the water softener lines miss-hookup caused the blockage.

Our water lines continued to produce brown water.............it was gross. We contacted Dan "the water Man" and he said...."it isn't our problem, you must have a problem with your water heater..........I don't care what Klassen says" Dan then came out to our house.......looked over the situation....and said......"it isn't a water softener problem.......Klossner is a competitor of mine......what do you expect them to say".......

Well, we didn't like bathing and washing with chocolate water so we called Klossner again.........they sent out another guy who flushed the lines and FINALLY we had regular water flow again. He reiterated that the reverse hookup of the lines was the culprit of the problem.

We tried working with Dan "the water man" but he would refuse to call us back.........then when I called him for a 4th time........he said "where do you live again and what is this about?".......I admit at this time I got upset........I said "You know who this is and we have discussed this enough........I expect you to pay for the plumber's bill to get our water back to normal."

Dan said, " Go ahead take me to court, your problem is you have old galvanized pipes and they let loose residue and .....you are just trying to get me to pay your bills" He obviously went from not remembering me to covering his arse in a split second. Fact> we have copper plumbing as verified by Klassen plumbing.

We filed a report with the Better Business Bureau but that was pretty much a waste of time because the BBB told us "this surely isn't the first time he has been filed on".......but they have no juristiction so Dan just said "go ahead, take me to court"..........well, we just got the water softener removed and paid them due rent.....just not worth the sweat and $ to take them to court.

Sad thing is.......Dan "the waterman" Roades continues on to take advantage of more people. DON'T be his next victim!

Hi folks, 

I want to give you an update on the situation with my business dealings with Dan Roades the Ecowater dealer in New Ulm, Mn.  Dan recently called me while I was at home.  I was very surprised to hear his voice since even though we didn't agree with our responsibility to pay his bill after the troubles we had, we did.  We thought we had moved on but apparently not.  Dan was, in my opinion very rude and said "I have my lawyers ready, you have 24 hours to get that report off Ripoffreport.com."  I did not respond right away so he repeated it and said "I mean it,  consider this your courtesy call, not that you deserve it,  you have 24 hours."  I responded by saying "don't ever call me again" and hung up the phone. 

Shortly after hanging up,  I will admit I tried to remove it from the site.  My thinking was simply....."this just isn't worth it......I don't like being talked to this way nor feeling threatened".  Well,  I later found out that I didn't have the option to have it removed.  I am very thankful of this.  After reading the response I received from the Founder of Ripoffreport.com, I realize it is sites like this that allows honest people to share their customer service exeriences with others....for the benefit of others. 

Here are a couple of paragraphs from the response I received from the founder of this site Ed Magedson :  quote-

ALL BUSINESSES WILL GET COMPLAINTS   ..HOW A BUSINESS TAKES CARE OF THOSE COMPLAINTS SEPARATES GOOD BUSINESSES FROM BAD BUSINESSES. THIS IS THE BEST PLACE FOR THEM TO SHOW HOW THEY TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS..  

Because of your Report you got (maybe) what was coming to you after maybe being screwed or just jerked around, right? Or are they still refusing to make things right? Now they want you to remove it and they will make things right and they will not sue you, ..ONLY if you get this Report removed?!  Or, are they threatening you with a lawsuit? If you dont get the report removed, they will sue you? 

UNFORTUNATELY SOME COMPANIES ARE SO PIG-HEADED THEY DON'T REALIZE THAT BY SATISFYING YOU FIRST AND THEN BY YOUR COMING BACK TO UPDATE YOUR REPORT SHOWING HOW THEY TOOK CARE OF YOU, MAYBE STATING THAT THEY DID NOT REALIZE THEY MADE A MISTAKE OR, MAYBE IN THE NAME OF GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY MADE THINGS RIGHT BY YOU.. THIS WILL MAKE CONSUMERS FEEL GOOD ABOUT THAT BUSINESS WHEN THEY RUN ACROSS YOUR REPORT ... WHO DOESN'T WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY OR INDIVIDUAL WHO CAN ADMIT MAYBE THEY MADE A MISTAKE AND HOW THEY MADE THINGS RIGHT FOR THE CUSTOMER?!! Reported businesses tell us all the time, they are glad we did not take down the Report about them, that the Report gets them new found business!

ALL COMPANIES / INDIVIDUALS WILL MAKE MISTAKES - - EVERYONE KNOWS THAT - -

HOW THOSE BUSINESSES TAKE CARE OF THOSE MISTAKES IS WHAT SEPRATES GOOG BUSINESSES FROM BAD BUSINESSES.

AND CONSUMERS TODAY WANT TO SEE A 3rd PARTY OPINION. THIS WILL ONLY WORK IN THEIR FAVOR AS A PERMANENT POSITIVE ADVERTISEMENT FOREVER  GREAT ADVERTISING THEY EVER HAD SAY  MANY REPORTED BUSINESSES,  AND IT'S FREE.
