First, no legitimate antivirus provider uses popup ads. Second, all the so called 'scans' are fake. No one can scan your computer unless you have installed software. Third, No legitimate company uses 'drive by downloads' to promote their produce. If a program is installed without the users consent it is a scam and criminal. When these popups appear on your screen--DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET IMMEDIATELY!! Once the rogue program has installed itself you will be treated to never ending popups, possible browser hijacks, installation of additional malware, computer crashes, slowdowns, and lots of other good stuff. Most of these programs come from Russia. Always check out the programs you install to determine their legitimacy, a quick Google search will tell you all you need to know. I have seen the 'personal antivirus' popups and knew right away they were a fraud. Also beware of antivirus 2009 and antivirus2009XE.
