Webpoint USA SCAMs unsuspecting customers into unwanted website ripoff, they are in the business of setting up unauthorized websites and billing them to local phone bills. Houston Texas
I am writing to file a formal complaint against a company called WebpointUSA. Apparently, they are in the business of setting up unauthorized websites and billing them to local phone bills. Charges appeared on my father's phone bill last month for a $49.99 setup fee and a $49.99 monthly service charge. The subsequent month a $49.99 charge appeared again as a monthly service charge.
Upon contacting the company they claimed that my father authorized the website. They immediately offered to play back the alleged phone conversation. The person representing their company during their tape was automated. My father's side of the conversation only involved him stating his name, address, and phone number. I informed the person on the line that what he played in no way persuaded me to believe that my father had actually agreed to this service. Why, in fact, would he do that when he does not even own a computer nor know how to turn one on.
In addition, why would a legitimate company be in the regular practice of taping phone conversations? The customer service associate agreed to refund the second month's service but said he would need to speak with my father to refund the other amounts. My father called and they agreed to refund the remaining amounts. However, I did inform them that I would be filing a formal complaint against them.
