On 14 October 2012,Welk Resorts Platinum Program at your Escondido location, with your sales agent Kerri cost $30k This is what was sent to the BBB regarding this company and a lot of details are omitted because there was just to much to list for their site.

During our 5 hour timeshare presentation with Karri and leaving our two young children in their childcare room at the resort, unknown how they were or offered a chance to check on them. We spend hours going over options we were on the fence as we would not be in California for much longer but trusted the real estate and financing were all legal and what we were being disclosed was in the contract.

Our sales agent, disclosed that we could hold your vacation weeks with Welk for 2 years, then roll them over to beheld with Interval for 4 years, or if we couldnt use our weeks, Welk would buy them back from us and rent them out. We could to plan our vacations around military obligations and allowed us to retain our weeks for up to 4 years should our military obligations limit us from being able to vacation. After we leave San Diego, which we informed the sales agent would be in February 2013, we are planning on retiring on the East coast and never returning to California . That is why the sell back and roll-over weeks made your program so attractive to us. We found
all of these statements to be false after talking to owner services on December 6th.

We spoke to ML on December 7th who informed us that, Welk will holds our unused weeks for 2 calendar years and Interval would hold them 2 additional years giving us a total of 4 years of unused weeks which supports what was disclosed during our sale presentation. She also informed us that we purchased 300,000 points which was only equivalent to 1 week in a 2 bedroom lock-off. After we hung up with her we called Owner Services again and were told, ML is incorrect she does not work in Owner Services, does not know the program, and she misinformed us. Welk will hold our weeks for 1 calendar year and they can be rolled over into Interval for 2 years but the 2 years starts from the original calendar year you received your Welk weeks. So the maximum length of time you can roll over your weeks is for 2 years.

We trusted that KS was held to the same legal standard of real estate disclosure guidelines for the presenting a product with true accurate information and that those disclosures were provision in our contract. During our 5 hours of talking with KS, we explained how we were going to use our vacations, ran our options and plans by her to make sure we understood them correctly, and even increased our package. There was no doubt in our minds we were all on the same page and that everyone had a clear understanding about what we were buying and what our expectations were about the program.

We found to be misleading was there was no mention of a point based system during the presentation, we were buying 2 weeks at Welk in a 2 bedroom lock-off, that there were tax right-offs, that we could sell our contract back to Welk, and there was no mention of an expiration date for the bonus week program. All of these details were not disclosed during our presentation and had they been we would have known this program would not work for our family. We could not think about it an come back as the price would not be offered.

According to Mr. SS in 2012 Welk changed their policies for how weeks are held. He did roll our weeks over till 2015 for Welk and in 2015 should we decide to use our weeks said Interval will help you out. We have not confirmed this with Interval.

I know they are in violation of the Real Estate Laws and refuse to let more people be burned bu this company. If anyone has had issue like this I would like to attempt a large class action against them. We are hoping to prove that we are not liers ourselves in what we were told since they do not vidio tape the meetings (of course not that would be incriminating that they lie) I need other people to share their story.

Do not waist your time with this company.
Thanks

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

I bought points in 2013, after going to an "owners update" they told me my account was unbalanced and it would be smart to buy more points to balance it out. They said for $5,000 or so more, you can get 360,000 pionts every other year, but for only $5000 or so more, you can get 240,000 points every year!

They painted such a beautiful picture and obviously made more sense to buy more... They said its such a great investment and that if i ever wanted to sell they would buy back because it would cost so much that they wanted to make the profit...

These were all lies! Owning this timeshare does NOT give you a better deal, or better position. I asked for them to take it back and they bluntly said, "No! We do not have a buyback program" I'm now stuck with this big headache...

I'm hoping we can all come together and open a class action lawsuiit!
