Within the last month, we have had small amounts suddenly disappearing from our accounts. I keep meticulous paper records in my check registers and have them dating back to my first checking account when I was 16. I've gone through my numbers hundreds of times searching for any errors on my part. I've found none. My numbers work out perfectly.

I check our online numbers and balance them with my check register every few days. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed $6 went missing. A few days later, it was $11. There was no record of this money gone, but it was missing. We were charged an overdraft fee because of this disappearing money. At the time, we had $5 in our account, but they took money from us and so we were considered to be overdrawn. I noticed this before it went overdrawn and transferred money but it was too late on their part. I spoke with one man at Wells Fargo who told me they would refund the fee if I would just call back in 3 days. I did and spent about an hour on the phone with 4 different people who kept hanging up on me, passing the buck to a different department, etc. Finally, I was told that it wasn't a bank error so nothing could be done. But it was a bank error! Of course, I don't have any proof because their records are "perfect".

Now, a week later, $44.85 is now missing from my account. I went on one night and the available balance had changed to the VERY NEXT NIGHT even though NO transactions had been made!!! What is going on?? I will be leaving Wells Fargo as soon as we move in a week. I even asked an employee if I printed the pages from the online records and showed them that the balance had changed with NO transactions being made, if they would refund the money. She said no. That I don't understand the system and she can't explain it any better!

From the other reports on here, it sounds as though Wells Fargo is becoming a bank of theft.

Wells Fargo is a well established thief, and you should close your account and move it to safer territory.  Wells Fargo won't return my inheritance. My father passed away on 07-24-2013, and Wells won't return his bank account for $22,500.

Wells Fargo is a national bank.  As a result they are not regulated in the same manner as state chartered banks.  Wells Fargo answers to no one because the Comptroller of the Currency is not a regulator, but an advocate, whos office is loaded with industry people.Wells Fargo will rob you for every penny you got, and I encourage you to close the account while there is sitll something left.  You are better off at a state chartered credit union.
