I made a deposit at a local Wells Fargo Branch: 1180 S. Diamond Bar Blvd Diamond Bar, Ca 91765 #909-396-4524. My deposit comprised of $500 in cash and a check. They readjusted my account for the cash amount saying I did not deposit this amount. I gave the deposit including cash to the teller : Jennifer who filled out the deposit form for me and did the transaction. The bank states the deposit only reflects the check. My cash is gone. I am upset and furious with this matter. A rep named Isaac there is assisting me, but the customer service line 800-869-3557 was very unhelpful and suggested that a letter in the mail would explain the mishap and that I am out $500.00 of my hard earned money.

I am not getting any resolution as quickly as possible as I feel a bank institution would correct this immediately. Please assist. This is wrong. Their error costs me the client: #$%%^# Customer is always right: especially a big institution of their magnitude.

Have you gone back to the branch to speak with the manager?

It took me a while, but now I get it: You deposited Z amt, consisting of X cash and Y check. The teller entered the deposit as Z check. Your account is credited the full amount. Two weeks later, the bank determines we only got Y in checks, so we're reducing your deposit by X. I would file a police report and/or go to the manager of that branch. They should have video of the deposit. Most banks have video to keep an eye on their teller, and their teller's till should have been over if it was entered as a check. But basically until you're credited the money, they really have 'stolen' it from you.

Maybe you should quit being so lazy and fill out your own forms -- before stepping into the bank, of course. Not only will you be able to sleep at night as you won't have to worry about your cash "disappearing" BUT you also wouldn't be annoying the poor teller who less than enthusiastically fills out your form with an eye roll NOR the rest of the people in line who are forced to wait for you -- glaring, I'm sure. "Customer is always right: especially a big institution of their magnitude." WRONG! Or, have you not read the other posts in this category?

RESPONSE TO WHY WOULD YOU LET TELLER FILL OUT FORM

#5REBUTTAL Individual responds

Sat, March 29, 2008

Well from my own experience with banking at Wells Fargo, tellers offer out of courtesy and to perform customer serivce (Even when I would not normally ask for them to fill out my deposit everytime) to do so. The whole point to your response "Poor money management" is this:I frequent to this same local branch: every payday like normal people do. Same day, sametime to do my normal banking. I have banked there for years. The fact is not that the teller behind the window could be guilty, it is that I have a receipt with the true amount I deposited. I have records showing the consistency of the same deposit. I have records on the banking system of the trail of the cash missing. The teller filled out the exact amount on my behalf for the deposit but listed it as a check. My complaint is the bank questioning me and treating me like I am at fault. I initialed the deposit for the correct amount. I handed my cash to the teller in full. I am sure someone saw this. 2 weeks later my account is readjusted, I am not informed. I find out on my own when balancing my account. I call and speak to 5 csrs on the 800 line whom are repetitive in reading me the same dialog in the event they do not know how to resolve a matter, I speak to employees whom do not know their CEO's name (their boss). I am upset because of the poor service and rudeness of WF. I did not right the total on the deposit, teller did. I handed my check and cash like I would normally do with confidence with the company I have a relationship. I question customer satisfaction, seeing the gray in this matter. I would not be so upset if I was a common thief. Your reply was as bad as one telling a female whom gets violated, she wanted it or was asking for it. I am a business man and when you deal with a client, there is a respect. You just only added to my frustration of the famous selfish idea: it didn't happen to me, tough luck on you. If I see you with a flat on the road, don't worry I won't help you out. You must live in the sticks.

why would you let the teller fill out the deposit slip

#6Consumer Suggestion

Why would you let the teller fill out the deposit slip? That is very poor money management. Did you look at the receipt when the teller gave it to you? Not all tellers are honest. What she could have done is record the check and not the cash then just pocket the cash. Look at your receipt (if you ahve not tossed it) and see what it says. Next time use a deposit slip from your check book or go to the ATM.
