Wells Fargo charged more in fees than what I had taken out of my account.. LaPorte Indiana
On the 13th of this month I went to a casino and took out $20.00 cash withdrawals from an ATM Machine. I lost track of how many I had gotten, but assumed the ATM would tell me when I had no more money in my account. It didn't.
When I got home I looked at my account online and found that I was approximately $350.00 overdrawn. I transferred $70.00 to my account from my savings, and I called the 800 number for Wells Fargo immediately, telling them I was going to deposit a check for an additional $500.00 the next day - 2 days at the latest, to bring myself back up. They said they would note my account to that effect.
When I deposited the check for $500.00, they told me I was overdrawn by $800.00 They charged me a total of $420 in fees in one day, just before I deposited my check for $500.00.
They have since charged me an additional $300.00 for returned check fees.
I have deposited an additional $400.00, and am still overdrawn by $231.99.
I have no more resources to draw from. I appealled to the bank manager to take some of these fees off. She said the bank made no mistake, therefore she can't take them off. I was able to get someone on the 800 line to take off 3 charges, and these figures already reflect that.
The 800 line person told me the bank manager can take more off, but I am unable to get her to do so.
Is there anyone I can appeal to over the bank manager's head?
I'm on Disability and only receive $721.00 per month as it is. All the money I have been putting in my account to try and cover this is borrowed.
