Wells is screwing yet another customer with their f...ing overdraft fees! I have 3 different checking accounts with them, and for the most part things have been o.k.

I've always been able to get things reversed because I am persistant. I don't take no for an answer. I keep calling back until I get someone who is sympathetic.

Once I had some fraud on my account due to Axys national bank taking any amount of money out of my account that they wanted to. I normally notice things right away, but had been very ill with autoimmune problems and on Morphine for severe Arthritis pain. I have been on it for over 2 years now. So life is difficult every day.

Over the course of a year they took out $1300 in fees. I got the runaround for over six months. Always keep track of your reference numbers, who you talked to, the date and which phone bank they are with.

I called almost every day. I finally found an employee on a message board that said she would help anyone who needed help with a problem they hadn't been able to resolve. I called her, and lo and behold, they were all reverseed that day! I hope she still has her job and didn't get into any trouble over this. I have worried about it many times. She was really nice.

Other than that, I haven't had many problems with them and have recommended many friends to them over the last 51/2 years.

My problem this time startd last November. On the 22nd I checked the website as I do everyday. I realized that there were 5 pending transactions that I needed to cover. So I went to the bank before 4:00 P.M. that day and made an $80 deposit. The five debits totaled $25.16. There was more than enough there.

The next morning I checked and there were 5 fees of $33 each! They were not there when I made the deposit. You guessed it. I had 4 more come in the next day for $50.46. Now of course, I'm $226.58 overdrawn! They hit me for 16 fees at $33 each and several $5 continous OD fees. And they have the nerve to charge you $2 each time you call the phone bank to get help.

I have made deposits every time I could to take care of this. Now they are taking money out of my other account to cover the fees and have left us with no money for a whole week.

I have no money to buy food for my 4 kids, nor my pain medicine. When you have to be on Morphine, you don't just quit taking it. You get very ill and go through withdrawels. Not to mention the pain and danger of having a heart attack.

The other thing I hate is the runaround you always get. Call the 800 number, and they tell you to talk to the branch manager. They say she can reverse fees. Then she says to call the 800 number, as only they can reverse. Different answer from everyone all the time. I know they do this on purpose. I believe oit is to make you so frustrated that you just give up.

Since they wiped out all of our money again we will now have checks bouncing on the next banking day. And they don't even tell you when they are going to do this. But it is usually on a Friday.

So if you have a similar situation, take all of your money out before closing on Friday.

I think that there should be a lawsuit filed just for the fact that you waste so much time calling everyone at Wells and getting the runaround. No one knows anything there. Anyone out there interested in doing this? Let me know. I'm sick and tired of them. And it isn't helping my blood pressure either. Very high the last few days.

And I need to go to Spokane, Wa. to help my parents who have both had strokes. They were counting on me, and now I have no way to go out and make money, being disabled now with this d**n Arthritis. I only hope my disability gets approved this week so I have some income.

Please let me know if you have had a similar experience and what you did to resolve it.

Thanks

If you have problems with overdrawing your account, please be careful. Once you hit below 0 on your balancem, you are barrowing money for WFB. This is not your money to overdraft on, thats why there is a hefty fee. 1. dont use your debt card 2. dont use your checks like instant cash 3. overdraft protection is ideal 4. if you cant handle this, why have a bank account at any bank!

Great advice for all of us Remi!

Hi Remi Thanks for the good advice. I too have made numerous calls back to get things reversed in the past. I even found a phone number of a woman that said to call her if you couldn't get things reversed and she would help out. She did indeed help to the tune of $1300 after over 6 months of trying. I would have gotten more done by now but am very ill. Just found out that I have an autoimmune disorder with a high rate of immortality. I'll be lucky to survive another 10 years, if that long. Wouldn't be so bad if my kids were grown. Was hoping I would be able to see all of them get married. But knowing Wells Fargo, they won't care one bit. Because of this, I can't pay for a car repair, car insurance, and most importantly a trip to Spokane Washington to see my parents who have both had strokes. My family went without food for a week, and I had to go without pain meds I have to take everyday around the clock for chronic pain. I went through a very tough week due to withdrawel symptons. I am not a drug addict, however I have to take it to keep my blood pressure down from the severe pain. I really want to get people to pickett Wells fargo, or put flyers on any cars in the parking lot. Unless we hit them where it hurts, they will never stop this crap. B of A is not much better. Be careful with them too. Same with US Bank. Keep very close track of every transaction every day. I like Washington Mutual much better by far. Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] Thanks for the advice. At least there are some people left in the world who are not su judgmental. Refreshing to say the least. And thank-you for the kind words.

Gail: I am so glad I found you, I'm dealing with the SAME BS right now, they charged me $1300, and I did exactly what was recommended to you, sat down with a manager and called the 800 number, but, it didnt work. Wells Fargo, I found out, has 10 call centers in the US, and your not guaranteed to get the same one, I even asked to be transfered to where the lady I spoke to was, they don't know. My advice to you is keep calling customer service, over and over again. Ive managed to get $400 hacked off so far, and that was about after a good hour on the phone. When you call ask to speak to a supervisor right off the bat, ask him to reverse the charges, if he says no, ask to speak to the manager, ask him the same thing, if he says no, hangup and callback, eventually youll get one that shows empathy. You'll get a lot of no's but it is possible to do. Sice I've gone through this I have filed a reports with the Better Business Bureau and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency/Dept Of Treasury. I recommend all of you who have encountered this to do the same. And as a side note, I have signed up B of A, who can completely remove overdraft protection from your account. My point of view is, Id rather have my card/checks bounce before I get nailed $33. And just as an amusing note of how dumb Wells Fargo is. That monthly interest payment they give, since i was in the negative, it was -.01 cents, and because I was already in the negative, $33 charge, litterally! They charged my $33 on 1 cent! I was FURIOUS when I found this out

You know I never thought of that! Thank-you so very much! Right now I am so emotional and distraught over this, that I can barely function. I am so thankful for your comment. My self esteem is so shot right now from 20 year old kids saying things that really upset me. I was abused all my life by my dad (even now) I just can't take it. I keep falling apart. I am not some icky person that doesn't give a d**n. I try to do the right thing every day. I have been with the same man since I was 15 years old. I am 52 now. Hasn't been idylic, but I don't give up on trying. I guess that's why I am so affected by all this. I can't stand the thought that people automatically assume you are irresponsible if you make a simple mistake. I am just overwhelmed with both of my parents needing my help so far away, being very ill and having children to care for. This was just about the end for me. I have terrible depression from pain, and feel really beat up by people on this site and Wells Fargo. Gail

While you are sitting with the manager, and you get told to call the 800 number, just ask them if perhaps you both could call it right now so that the manager could hear it and tell you what you are doing wrong. Once they are on the line together, let them duke it out.
