Weststar Shoppers Information Very deceiving, they will send you a big check in the mail for a "supposed secret shop" of Moneygram/Western Union Toronto Ontario
I stopped at my mailbox on Friday and found a letter waiting for me. It was in an airmail envelope and had a return address written on it with the WestStar company name, a p.o box and a city/state of OCC H8S2C7.
In it was a letter telling me that they had gotten my name from a survey that I had filled out by their "affiliate Consumer survey Specialist", regarding my interest in having an additional income on a part-time basis. When reading the letter I noticed several spelling errors and grammar errors as well, which was the first clue for me that this probably was not something legit.
Then out popped this check of for $3,980. I was thinking "wow, what a break!" and then it hit me, why would ANY legit company send you a check this big and have you do a secret shopper thing with over $3,000?? Also the check did LOOK very convincing, and it even said that it was drawn on a Wells Fargo Bank in Phoenix AZ. But where the address was listed for the bank, they had misspelled Phoenix. So that was another clue.
I did e-mail the Council of the American Survery Research Org, whom they said they were a member of, to find out of they really were a member of their organization or not. I have not heard back from them, as I just e-mailed them. I will say though that if you do receive something like this in the mail BEWARE!! I am going to the Iowa Attorney General's office with this as well.
