Wilkins Buick Mazda Deceptive Business Practice on Used Car Sale - Did Not Meet Terms of Sale Villa Park Illinois
We purchased a 2006 Black Envoy XL from Wilkins Buick on May 22, 2008. On the contract (#270832157) and promised by the general manager, Terry McGrath, the terms were agreed upon that the dealer would be responsible for repairing exterior scratches and paint damage on the front bumper, the hood of the car, the rear bumper and back of the car as well as detailing the inside of the vehicle, fixing misc repairs needed (including a seatbelt replacement and new floormats). We dropped off our vehicle to be serviced on Monday, June 30, 2008. We received a phone call on Thursday, July 3 stating it was ready to be picked up and then later that day, a representative called back and said that it would not be ready until Monday, July 7. We went to pick up the vehicle on Monday, July 7 and immediately noticed that the front bumper and the interior detail on the car were not performed as written on the contract and purchasing the car. We said we would leave the vehicle there overnight again to be repaired and would be in the following day. Upon walking out of the dealership, we were approached by the General Manager, Terry McGrath, who said "We are done working on this car. You bought a used vehicle and we are not doing anything else." My husband then reminded them of the written contract and the repairs being a condition of the term of the sale. Terry McGrath replied, "Too bad, I am done working on your car and we are not servicing your car." My husband asked to talk further and he walked away without resolving the issue and therefore, breaking the written contract.
In addition to the lack of service and the immediate change in attitude once the papers were signed and vehicle purchased, we are looking for the dealership to repair the damage to the front bumper and detail the inside of the vehicle as promised in our written contract.
