Willow Creek at San Martin Las Vegas, Nevada
I've been keeping an eye on willow Creek online and have been shocked by what I've been seeing. I can't go into it all here, but just Google "Willow Creek Las Vegas" and you'll see what I've seen. Just incredible. And to think that someone would entrust the care of their elderly loved ones to this facility!
Here's something else I found out to add to the stuff that's already out there. There's a doctor at Willow Creek -- a gerontologist named Upinder Singh. A gerontologist is someone who studies and takes care of the elderly. Makes sense, being that Willow Creek at San Martin is an assisted living facility. However, I've found out that this Dr. Upinder Singh is dispensing powerful pain medication -- narcotics -- for Willow Creek's Donald Herman, who is the principal owner and Managing Member there.
Donald Herman is being treated by an orthopedic surgeon for h is back, yet he's using Willow Creek's gerontologist to get Dilaudid and Lortabs. Dilaudid is a form of hydromorphone -- a drug that is a derivative of morphine -- an opiate. It's powerful stuff. Lortabs are a combination of acetaminophen and hydrocodone, which is also an opiate. Both are classified as narcotics. Both can be highly addictive.
It's not uncommon for people using these kinds of drugs to become addicted to them and abuse them. And we already know that Donald Herman was locked up in a mental institution under Nevada's L2K provision, which allows someone to be held if it is deemed that they could harm themselves or others. That came after a family member and a high-ranking employee at Willow Creek found Donald Herman passed out at his home. Too much is adding up here.
Also, Donald Herman's sister, Dawn (who also goes by Deedee), may be involved as well and may be the one getting the prescriptions from Dr. Singh for her brother. Singh also is a professor at Touro University in Nevada.
Pop star Michael Jackson had Dr. Conrad Murray, and we saw how that turned out. Looks like Willow Creek's Donald Herman has Dr. Upinder Singh. How will that turn out? Do you really want your family members around that kind of activity?

Either an L2K exists or it doesn't. And it's good to know you're taking the allegations seriously. They require serious attention and correction.
And something to think about: Just because something might not be able to be proven in a court of law, doesn't mean it's not true.

I understand. But I've been down that road. I know what happens to people who must continually try to find increased medication levels to deal with back pain, and it's not pretty. Doctors can become enablers -- with the best intentions, but to the detriment of the patient. What would be good for Dr. Singh to do is to check with Herman's other docs as well as pharmacists to ensure he's not over-prescribing. No respectable doctor would knowingly over-prescribe pain medication. Key word is "knowingly." And if this is going on, I doubt I'd get a straight answer from the Hermans.

The contents of the malicious and defamatory statements posted on this website have come to the attention of the Willow Creek management. Willow Creek takes theses malicious and defamatory statements extremely seriously and has instituted an investigation that is ongoing.
These malicious and defamatory statements were posted by disgruntled former employees that were recently terminated for cause from Willow Creek. It is not uncommon for the Doctors at facilities to see the people who work there, as well as the residents. Most of the Assisted Livings allow this.
I have also found that the majority of extremely nagative reviews come from people who have recently been "Let go", and need to be checked out by us, the family members of the residents, before accepted as truth.
This particular place has always treated my Mom with respect and dignity, and the owners, The Hermans, are open to answering any questions, if anyone has the resopnsibilty to ask, instead of just listening to a random unknown on the Internet.
I will ask Dr Singh to have a look at this posting, as well, as he is a Doctor, and can write prescriptions, particularly for pople who have had back problems for extended periods of time.
