Complaint Review: Windancer Newfoundlands Julie Thomas - Elkland Missouri

Please take notice that Lisa A. Martens and Lisa A. Martens dba Lighthouse Newfoundlands commenced an action in the Lorain County, Ohio, Court of Common Pleas, Case No. 12CV177494, due to the deceptive and defamatory statements made by Julie Thomas in Comments 1, 2, 4, and 6 in Ripoff Report No. 614252.  In this action, and in compliance with Ariz. R. Civ. P. 45.1, the Clerk of the Maricopa County, Arizona, Superior Court has issued a subpoena to Ripoff Report for the
contact information of the person who posted these statements on Ripoff Report.  The subpoenaed information will
be sent to Thomas M. Horwitz, Esq., Thomas M. Horwitz Co., LPA, 1991 Crocker Road, Suite 600, Westlake, Ohio 44145.
The Maricopa County Superior Court is located at 201 W. Jefferson, Phoenix, Arizona, 85003.  The Lorain County Court of Common Pleas is located at 225 Court Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035.

My name is John W. My wife and I bought Bobby Shafto's brother, from a Bo-bo and Simone litter of pups from Windancer Newfoundlands. We drove from Chicago out to Elkland to pick up our new pup. We spent hours with Julie on her property. We witnessed her care and professionalism when it came to handling her animals. We also talked about all kinds of non dog subjects. Julie is bright, well spoken, down to earth, and someone who truly cares deeply for her animals.
We had some aggressive issues with our Newf, which was mainly food aggression. It was brought on by having a strong willed male Great Pyr in the house along with the Newf. They were trying to figure out who was the Alpha. Some of the fights were quite scary, as these are both big, strong dogs. By the way, this was our third Newf, so we're experienced with the breed. I called on Julie for counsel on what to do and she was always "Johnny on the spot" right there for us and spent many hours on the phone and writing countless emails. All for the sake of helping us through our issue. In the end, her advice helped and today our Newf is approaching 10. He's in perfect health and and quite the gentleman. His former arch enemy, the Great Pyr and him became dear friends over the years. Just recently, we had to put the Pyr down down due to a massive fatty tumor that eventually rendered him unable to walk.
 I don't pretend to know anything about all this stuff being reported here, but I had to pipe in and put in a good solid word for Julie. She's A+ in our book and the Newf we bought from her is top notch in every aspect. Knowing Julie, I seriously can't imagine her breeding defective dogs, no way IMHO! She cares too much. Anyone calling Windancer's operation a backyard breeder has not been to Julie's place. Trust me when I tell you, it's a clean, spacious, well run operation. Oh, and it happens to be on a really gorgeous piece of property. My advice to anyone looking for a Newf pup, don't hesitate to call Julie and speak with her. She's a serious breeder, with nothing but good intentions, based on my total experience with her.
I have no financial interest in Windancer and in fact have not spoken with Julie in over a year, probably two. This came to my attention as I was surfing the web pondering what kind of dog I want to buy now that my Pyr is gone. Thanks for reading, and sorry for the long winded post. To anyone that lost a pup due to genetic defects, I'm greatly sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is, as we had to put a young and gorgeous female Pyr down very young due to Lymphoma. I'm not making light of anyone's situation. I just wanted to share my experience with Windancer.

Lisa.....the truth will out... your Karma has to be terrible ! Your (former) friends are now emailing and calling to clear themselves.. They have told me that you WROTE the things they posted and told them to do it.. Further, it is now common knowledge that you SOLD my dog you are complaining about. How do you SELL a dysplastic dog ? You are the scourge of the newfoundland fancy.. potential customers, beware,  check with other breeders, everyone knows this person. She buys cheap litters off the net and sells them under false registry. she loves to take deposits and claim the puppy died.. If anyone needs further proof, please get ahold of me for email copies...I am not afraid of Lisa, and her threat to ruin me falls on deaf ears,  It is unfortunate 'Ripoff' never removes complaints. so this is my only option.  also...the true Lisa is 'Stella Deen' on utube.

Julie and I resolved this matter privately. 

   Lisa..only you and I know the extent of your ability to decieve people. Nothing can get proven in a venue like this.. All you have to do, as I said before, is PUBLISH a copy of your OFA report on Coleman right here..on this site..for all to see....That way everyone can see who the lyer is...and you have caused all this uproar and problems and felt compelled to fabricate all this nonesence over a right hip that is loose on a 6 mo old newfie pup....scan and copy the paper.....that is all you have to do.  I have been begging to see it...you refuse to show me anything...no breeder makes a refund with out some substantiation.. So just scan it....I'm waiting.  

IN the mean time..it seems that anyone that has ever had anything to do with you says you are a pathalogical lyer.. you need help..  but just post the paper from OFA and we can all see the truth..

Sue me for libel?  I think not.  I have caught Julie in several lies.  We offered to bring him back when he was alive; she said she didn't want him back.  She said the same thing to Doug, and he can attest to this.  She hung up on me, deleted my e-mails, and hung up on Doug.  She spoke to my vet, and LIED about what he said.  She lied on Newf-L, and if any of you are foolish enough to believe this woman, then there is something seriously wrong.  Doug is the person who is out about $2,000, all inclusive, so we'll take this PRIVATE and settle, not to mention huge attorney fees.

I will not stoop to your level, Julie.  You can't spell, you can't keep your stories straight, and all anyone has to do is go to www.offa.org, type in Windancer's, choose the Newfoundland breed, and see what disasters she's producing.

We gave you ample time to make this right.  You REFUSED.   

    I have no choice but to file a libel suite here...Lisa, this is crazy...what a vendictive person you are..and all over insisting on an immediate refund..

  Lisa knows that this is pure hogwash...She refused to let me see any vet reports or xrays...I repeatedly offered to take back the dog...Now she has killed him so I will never know the truth....Lisa..just publish..right here..a copy of the OFA findings.. That will solve the whole issue...I would really like to see it...

Everyone who knows me knows I am honest to a fault.. This woman lies without concience....it is dispicable....She is vengeful, and spiteful, and will tromp on anyone who gets in her way...All of us breeders have problems once in a while, anyone who says they don't is lying....the best we can do is offer to take back the dog and give a refund, which I did. I am not a wealthy person, and my contract says I refund puppies as litters are available. That was Lisa's issue.. She wanted me to write her a check as soon as she showed up with the dog. I could not do that, but would have refunded as soon as I had the funds. She has STILL refused to send me any documentation..why ? She has a report from OFA I would appreciate her publishing HERE..I really want to see it.
