Bought 5 windows installed Dec 8 1995, patio window fogging, condensation. contract reads Contractor agrees to furnish the following materials, improvements, labor, and/or services. under it is hand written alist of 5 items of which #3. states Lifetime non prorated Transferable Warrenty. Called number on paper, no longer good, looked Window Concepts INC. up on internet found they moved from 5858 Northwst Highway, Chicago to 934 Oaklawn Elmhurst,Il 60126 phone was 312-774-6944 now is 630-833-6944. Brian Murphy still listed as one of the people. Called them July 10.2008, left msg no info given except last name calling about windows. Received call next day July 11, 2008. Was told "thing is, manufacturer of windows went out of business in 1996 plus only the door is covered under life time warrenty seal no longer covered as of 2 yrs ago." (nothing about that is on my paper.) Also window name is Concept 1 Windows. This companies name is Window Concepts. Their man came to my house and sold these windows to me I did not buy them in a store with them as installers. ( The one who called me back seemed to have my file in front of him. I never told him I had bought windows from him, just that my call was ref windows. He asked if I need any other windows. Why would he ask me that, unless he knew at the time I just put in 5 windows with cost estimate good for 2yrs for the rest. (was not sure about these windows wanted to try them first) never had rest done. Was told light weight easy to remove to clean (NOT, is very heavy requires two people & screen takes at least 1/2 hour to take out and put back, very hard) told can open both directions (NOT, screen slides but only seals one side, other side has big gap between screen and window. I feel I got scamed.

I'm so sorry Karen had a bad experience with Window Concepts, but I have to tell you, my experience with them was just the polar opposite. As a matter of fact, they were probably the best company that I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. In May of 2006 after purchasing our home we started to get some estimates on a few problem windows. The gentleman from WC bent over backwards to help us find a style of window that we liked but one that also fit into our family's budget. We picked the 5 lite bow for the front and 4 double hungs for the family room and we could not be happier. Within 6 weeks our custom made windows were installed and the professionalism of the workers was second to none. It was done in one day while I was at work! With all the "Chuck with a truck" fly-by-nights operating out there, dealing with a company like this was like a breath of fresh air.
Next year me and my wife would like to do the kids rooms and we will be calling them again. Finding a company of this caliber is like finding a needle in a hay stack. As a matter of fact, if I ever had the opportunity to speak to the owner as Karen said she has I would let him know what a phenomenal job his company has done for us. He obviously runs a very tight ship.

With any purchase that you make you should look at the *warranty* and what is covered on it. I'm assuming you didn't really look into the fine print when purchasing your 5 windows because if you did, you would understand that Window Concepts is NOT responsible for anything but the installation. Window Concepts did NOT manufacture your windows thus making them NOT responsible for another companies problem. Unfortunately for you, the windows you bought were made by a company by the name of REPUBLIC that is no longer in business. You will also need to understand that some companies along a 30 year existance will move locations for many different reasons so just because window concepts moved locations has nothing to do with...really anything. You will also find that Window concepts has different types of windows considering not everyone can afford the best, there are different concepts. "concept 1" (being the upgraded window REPUBLIC made) "concept 2"(being the middle grade version REPUBLIC made) and "concept 3"(being the lower grade window that REPUBLIC made). Because at the time you bought the CONCEPT 1  window, this does not have anything to do with window concepts making the window. Any time you purchase a product of a significant value, 99.9999% of the time its under a MANUFACTURES warranty and if that company goes out of business, your warranty is null and void. Hence window concepts isn't at fault here. Understanding you are upset about the result of your windows, here is a URL address with many more unhappy consumers blogging there frustration.
