Wingate Hotel Rip off the consumer policies Indianapolis Indiana
In may i contacted Wingate hotel to reserve a room for an upcoming conference to be held there. When it came time for the conference i was unable to check in because of family and financial emergencies. Besides i lived in kentucky and was quite the drive there and the gas expense was too much for me at the time.
I made the error of forgetting to contact them to say that i would not be staying and they took the luxury of charging me anyway for a service that i did not get stating that it was there policy that if the person does not show that they charge you because they "held the room for me".(EXTREMELY DOUBTFUL) i stated to management at the time that i was never made aware of that policy and was unaware that i would be charged if for some reason i was unable to make it. If i had been i would have never booked a room.
I am seeing that this is a hotels way to guarantee payment regardless if they offer a service or not. A more reasonable policy would be to inform the consumer that they reserve the right to check out the room to another if they fail to call or show up by a certain time but why do that when you can get money for nothing?
