I work at a wingate in Mississippi and I can pretty much tell you that aside from one or 2 front desk employees and a few housekeepers and one maintence man here, no one cares about your personal problems with the hotel. I try my hardest to fix lodegenet problems with the tech support (i used to work an IT job) I help keep the computers running, the coffee hot, the rooms clean and the people happy. But I can tell you that Wingate and their parent company Cendant are a cold machine without feeling or life. It is a money and profit driven robot. I am deeply sorry for all your trouble and had you been at my hotel I would have found a way to compensate for you're trouble (plus me and 2 other employees keep everything running so you could have voiced your dissatisfaction)! Again I am sorry but not suprised that you had trouble with a wingate inn!!!

Thank you, Bob, for your suggestion. I did contact the parent company, and was informed that Wingate Inns are franchises, so I must correspond with the individual Inn where this all occurred. I filed a complaint with the BBB, which was forwarded to the Wingate Inn in question. I got a phone call at home from the VERY angry new owner of that Inn, demanding that I call the BBB immediately and unfile my report, or words to that effect. She informed me that since the incident had occured prior to her purchase of the property/franchise, she was not responsible for anything that happened there during the previous owner's tenure, and I was not due a refund, and implied I should apologize to her for hurting her business (by filing with the Texas BBB). So, the parent company said it was a franchise matter, the franchise says it was the last owner's problem, and I am still out of my money, my time, and my patience. I blame both the parent company, as well as all the franchise owners as being responsible for fradulent advertising, using bait and switch tactics, and for being generally ill-mannered, rude people. They should be sued, and no longer allowed to harrass customers, overcharge them, and publish that "money-back guarantee" false ad. Makes me ashamed that they represent an American company.

What you have done in order to get a refund has been the correct procedure. If you are not getting any satisfaction, call Cendant (They are the company that Franchises Wingate) The phone number used to be 605-229-8092 for Wingate. If you have the 800 # for Wingate, tell them you want the number for the brand president. Cendant is located in Northern New Jersey - I belive the brand president is still Keith Pearce (Pierce ?). I would suspect that if you speak to him or write him a letter, that something will be done. I do not have any affiliation with Wingate whatsoever, just happen to have som einfo that may help. They should provide a refund since their website does say "Every Wingate Inn guest should leave every one of our hotels completely satisfied. If for some reason you are not completely satisfied with your experience at a Wingate Inn hotel, you will not be expected to pay."

I have been working as the Maintenance Man FOr Wingate Inn For 2 years now and Want you to Know this; That Motel Really DID treat you wrong. At our Motel in Oklahoma We Have FREE high-Speed internet Access and i Make Sure that anyone who complains about it Not working, gets fast Service To Repair it (to the best of my Ability During Normal Business Hours).Unfortunately Sometimes ATT or Lodgenet Systems Do Go Down and in Those Cases We Apologize Profusely. We Also Have 2 Computers in our Bussiness Office For the Guest use and with my Extensive Hobby Of Computer repair and Upgrades i Keep those Puppies Going. So PLEASE Accept Our DEEPEST Apologies with this Bad experience and Do Visit us in Oklahoma Where: WE REALLY DO CARE.
