Sounds like this is completely, totally, and unquestionably your fault. You were trying to rip off the company by using their product with out the data plan.. which of course you need because the G1 is a google phone... meaning it is an internet phone... meaning you have to have a data plan to use it. I don't really believe you or your son didn't know that, besides that you did all this research to find out about the phone but didn't know it needed a data plan???? The company you bought the product from didn't do anything wrong and gave you exactly what you asked and paid for. Also there is noooo possible way they can change your plan with Tmobile without your consent... That's why My boyfriend who is not the PRIMARY account holder can't even find out how many minutes we have used on our T mobile account... it is in place for your protection.

It sounds like the problem you have is with T-mobile not the store, since T-mobile is the one forcing you sign-up and pay extra for their data service. Verizon did that to me when i bought a samsung i760. i figured that since it had wifi i could get the internet free on it using my wifi but they are charging me an extra $30 a month for their data service. I can totally see why you are pissed but you should probably ripoffreport T-mobile since they are forcing you to buy something you don't want in order to use the phone you want to use.
