WM FINANCAIL GROUP Consumer Lottery Scam Brooklyn, New York
WM FINANCAIL GROUP mailed me a letter with a $3900.00 check enclosed from NationalCity Bank. Along with the check was a letter stating that I had been selected by a lottery with the numbers 3.7,11,15,23,28,36 and 49.
I was along with several others who divided an amount of $480,000.
The check was a portion of the 39,000.00 that I had won form the lottery. the letter gave me a number to call, which I did. the number was 905 781 0568. I rec'd an answering machine that was full. It gave me contact names of Catherine Wells or Phil Carter. It also stated that all prizes must be claimed by 16 August 2008. The letter was signed by Sara Dose, Vice President.
I took the check to my local bank and they confirmed that the Bank was real, but not the check. My bank was going to send all the original documents to their FRAUD department. BEWARE. DO NOT cash or deposit this check.
