Wolpoff and Abramson ripoff Harassing via ph charging me 1,631 more than what I originally owed Rockville Maryland
About 6 years ago I had a credit card through Providian. I made payment arrangements. I owed $300 and made arrangements to pay $89 a month.
The person I spoke to said it was fine. I then had someone else contact me, a man by the name of Charles, I can't remember his last name, he was very rude and said that, the payments weren't exceptable and that I would have to pay the full amount.
Then about 2 months ago I started receiving calls from Wolpoff & Abramson. I spoke to a represenitive of Wolpoff & Abramson and the stated I had owed them the amount of $1,931.63.
I told them I wasn't going to pay them what they were asking for that, I would agree to paying the original amount.
They wouldn't agree to this so I hung up the phone. The called back and I told them I was going to file for Bankrupsy. I don't know what the best thing to do concerning this situation.
I'm not sure what the statute of limitations are for this state and the harrassent laws are.
