The same scenario happened to me. I called Walmart and they did nothing to help. I had to file a dispute through my credit card company. It has to be an inside job.

I have experienced this personally. When an e-mail was received by me from Walmart.com saying I purchased an Iphone for $900 I immediately went to the account and found that someone had attempted purchases several times and the last attempt had been successful. I was able to cancel the order online and received the refund promptly. I deleted all credit card information and changed my password. Also I took the additional step of notifying my bank and having my credit card cancelled as I had just purchased items from Wal-mart the day before.
About one week later I received several e-mails notifying me of multiple purchases of the same item on Walmart.com. Logging in to the account I found that indeed there were multiple purchases that could not be cancelled but, here is where it really starts to get weird, the hackers had entered a credit card of another person on my account and made the purchases.
This would indicate that these hackers have access to valid credit card numbers and are then using hacked accounts to make purchases. Unfortunately Walmart has a lax policy on passwords and limits the length to 11 characters so you cannot have a really strong password.
I have changed my password to as strong a password is possible with 11 characters and will wait to see if they break in again. I did take the step of deleting the credit card information to at least try to protect the person being scammed.
I have notified Walmart both times by e-mail with no response from their customer service.
