Wynn's as a company was purchased about two years ago by Phoenix American in Florida. Prior to the purchase Wynn's insurance company was NWIG a RRG (risk retention group)now it is Nationwide. At the height of NWIG there were 30 to 40 maybe more vehicle service contract companies that used NWIG as their insurance carrier for several reasons. 1. RRG does not have to compile to state laws like an admitted carrier. 2. RRG does not have to maintain the same reserve structure as a admitted carrier. 3. RRG in most cases will have cheap/under reserved rates-something all car dealerships like. 4. I have no proof however I would say both NWIG and companies like Smart Choice, Wynn's knew the reserve rates they were using were under reserved from the beginning in fact the former CEO/Chairman of NWIG left to start this company www.heritagewarranty.com/ another vehicle service contract RRG insured program. The best guess is the fall out is still not over for the consumer. 5. Recommendation: Return to the selling dealership/Credit Union/Bank you purchased the service contract from when they tell there is nothing they can do for you tell them "it was their responsibility to make sure the aftermarket companies they do business with are financially stable it is not yours" IF they need to collect money from NWIG do it themselves it is their responsibility. Hope this helps you understand a little better. Regards,

That is not what my policy says or what the news reporter here in Kansas City did in their newscast/ "rip off report" on the insurance company and worthless warranties. They may have changed over when the company went bankrupt but that does not change the fact that there are thousands of us out here holding absolutely worthless warranties from a defunct, bankrupt insurance company that is hiding in the Cayman Islands. Just call the attorney general in your state and ask. Lawsuits are being filed everywhere.

Like the rest of you, I am too without a vehicle. But there is relief through your state attorney general consumer protection, who in at least several states is gathering reports on National Warranty Insurance Company, the insurance company funding Wynn's who is now bankrupt. Here in Kansas, a news reporter has been broadcasting what has happened to thousands of us all over the United States - being denied for legitimate claims and losing cars because NWIC could not pay its own bills. He also stated that the insurance company went by many different names when operating in the US. My situation is horrible because the 20 year Ford mechanic who diagnosed the problem was so mad that they denied my repairs, rental and tow after agreeing with him about the cause - that he even told me to call a lawyer! He said that Wynn's - of all the warranty companies he has dealt with is the ONLY ONE that has refused to pay out on a claim like mine - or to replace an engine and he also said that their standard way of dealing with expensive repairs like this is to blame and abuse their own customer. If you have not already Call your attorney general's office and file complaints - believe me, whatever state Wynn's has been dealing out of - the attorney general there is probably very familiar with them. That's right - I paid thousands of dollars to be defrauded -this is slimy corporate greed !!!!!!!!
