On 10/04 I got a bill from Xcel for $874.71. I assumed this was a mistake and called them to resolve this. The lady on the phone informed me that they had estimated my bills from April until now when someone actually came and read the meter. I asked her how they could estimate my bill she said they estimated based off of the year prior (bills ranged from $40-$60). Well no one has lived in this home for well over a year know so there was no bills all utilities were off. Well she informed me that there was nothing they could do and my bill states that it may be an estimate. Well I though estimates were not to far off. I was told that I had no other choice and that I used their service and now have to pay for it. She also brought up the fact that my bills would still remain high because of the amount of energy we use and that we need to think about updating appliances etc etc.

Well when we bought the house we bought all new appliances all energy star. I admit that the heating/ cooling unit is dated and needs to be replaced but the amount of energy used is still way to high. She asked me go read my meter to her so I did and she said nothing was wrong there and that I needed to check for goast energy or something like that. I told her I have no idea what to look for and she just couldnt help me at all. I asked to talk to a supervisor about all this and still received no resolution. I have no idea who to call or what to do about this if there is anything that can be done. Not only that when I opened the account in April they used my middle name not first I called to change it and they couldnt even do that. They addressed me by my middle name when I called I informed them of the mistake she said it was changed. When she transfered me to her supervisor she used the wrong name AGAIN! They cant even get that right!
