I have owned an Xium spilateral antenna for approximately three years. Due to my location deep in the Missouri lowland woods , where broadcast television, cell phone signals and WI-FI are non-existant, and where satellite services black out at the slightest hint of rain, I had lost all hope of maintaining contact with the 'outside' world. One day, a veteran's organization magazine arrived with an obscure ad for Xium's spilateral antenna. As a former avionics technician and instructor, I realized the advantages of Xium's technology and promptly sent for the smallest unit Xium offered. That unit is the ONE reliable piece of gear available when we are under tornado watch and rely on up-to-date meteorological data. That unit is the ONE reliable signal that operates despite wicked Missouri storm fronts, satellite outages and inconsistent electronic signals. Where I once had 'ant races' on the television screen, I can now receive digital-quality broadcast television stations from Jefferson City (an hour's meandering drive that crosses four creeks and two rivers amid a series of rocky bluffs) and Columbia (ninety minutes away, with triple the water and rock barriers). When I go camping, it is primitive and even deeper into uncivilized territory. The Xium unit is so powerful and so convenient that I keep one with the emergency television that is standard equipment here in Tornado Alley. I found this ripoff report as I prepared to purchase additional Xium units and could not allow the bad press to go without comment. I find it incomprehensible that someone could fault Xium's product. May I respectfully suggest the fault does not lie with the antenna, but rather with the installation? Sometimes only a fresh perspective is required; my eight-year old grandson is fully capable of setting up the antenna on campouts. Xium has a powerful and reliable antenna. Period.

While my story about my experience trying to make use of the XiumAir TV antenna is an accurate recollection of what I experienced, I have to say that I was impressed with Mr. Ramirez' attitude in discussing this issue with me and he made a full refund instantly. He did not ask me to but I felt that it was the honourable thing to do in returning the Xium dish to him. I feel that whatever problems there are with the Xium TV antenna Mr. Ramirez is credit to the company. I also must extend my heartfelt thanks to this Rip-Off report website for bringing us together. I am well aware that without Rip-Off report.com there would have been no refund. from Barry Jackson, who really does exist - it's a struggle with advancing age and creaking bones at times.

Talked to 'Barry J'.. We received a phone call from Mr. Barry J. this morning. He mentioned that he 'Does exist' and I was able to research the information that he provided me. It shows that his credit was applied to his payPal account accordingly - I had to remind him that his purchase was an internet order that was paid through payPal. Our 'arcived' database does not include the few orders that go through the payPal system. Today- it does! I sincerely apologize to Mr. J. He does exist and his transaction(s) were complete with our company. He has asked me to reply on my last submission and I told him that I had no problem in doing so. I mentioned finally to him that sometimes these things happen. In no way do we feel that his initial submission was false or incorrect. We do feel now that he is a satisified customer of ours. Thanks again Barry! Customer Service Xium Corporation

I would have replied to this sooner - a customer brought this to my attention just yesterday! I Supervise Customer Service for Xium Corporation. My Name is Marc Ramirez and my direct Ph# is (806)383-4140. I started working here in 92' after college. In reading the information regarding 'Barry' in Flower Mound, Tx I can only respond in such a manner that I feel that 'Barry' does not exist. And most importantly, I find it quite odd that Ripoff.com, being a non biased entity, advertises TV Antennas on their website right next to a TV Antenna complaint. Our advertisement mentions that the Patented XiumAir Dish-Type TV Antenna has a range of 50 miles. It has the shape and appearance of a satellite dish but it acts as an Off-Air Tv Antenna. Just remember that every Off-Air Tv antenna on the market requires a good line of sight. Mountains, valleys and trees will deter the use of the unit. As a consumer in today's times, a little research and homework has never hurt me! Our Customer Service Dept. is top notch. We are attentive to each situation and we can answer just about any technical question with regard to TV Reception. To Date, we have not received a complaint form Texas Coop Power and without regret we continue to advertise in their wonderful magazine. We do not have a customer from Flower Mound, Tx in our Database. I fully understand that the names are changed to protect those who complain but I personally contacted Ultimate Electronics in Lewisville, and three of the installers- Wade, Jason, and Ryan (real names) have never installed an Xium Antenna. 'Barry', If you truly exist as our customer and your experience with Xium Corporation is tainted some how, please contact me directly so that we can make your experience with Xium Corporation right.
