I recived numours calls from Yelp about advertising on there platform and how great it was. I explained that I already did Facebook ads and that I didn't think there services would be beneficial. After calling me for over a year or so a rep called me pitched the sale again and I told him the same thing. A few months later he called back and said I had a free trial offer of $300. I told him I would redeem it soon.
Here’s where things get strange after talking with this rep in between the free trial offer and coming close to advertising with yelp I get this strange e-mail. Someone contacted me claiming they needed a Photographer to shoot a wedding. The number given from this person was out of state the whole messaged mentioned YELP several times in it seemed fishy. Once I started the free credit my ad did terrible I called the rep back an he agreed and said I’m not sure what’s going on give it time no one was looking at my ad and I was paying x amount per day regardless.
Towards the very end of my credits I started to get messages from yelps message platform here’s where it get’s even stranger. ALL of the messages had a outstate number and when you returned the call the number just rang no answer. I have no doubt the leads sent my way was someone from yelp sending me junk to make it look like there service was working. If you do Photography do not advertise on yelp its a HUGE scam. You might end up getting false leads like me or nothing but a empty pocket book in the end.
