Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
One phone call from my bank may have saved me thousand s of dollars. I had invested about four hundred dollars into becoming a "sales agent" for Zaga Studios when I was let go for not complying to a 48 month lease scam that would put big bucks in the pockets of Jamie Brown their sales leader.

My bank informed me that the equiptment that I was about to lease was being leased at a very inflated price. I was being set up as a "contractor" so you would think that I could have chosen a more cost effective way to run my business: NO WAY! When Jamie was confronted with this information he became highly agitated. Why? Because my leasing other equiptment would not allow for him to put money in his pockets. He had worked out some arrangement with the company to get a "bonus" for getting people to sign their lease. He was busted and I was let go.

This prompted me to do some research on the company and I found out sosme interesting facts. First that the phone numbers listed for the company do not belong to Zaga Studios and second that Zaga Studios does not have an office in any of the cities listed on it's web site. Hmmmm a vitual company? If you check out their site you will notice that there are not any biographies. Why is that?

Those of you interested in doing business with Zaga Studios beware. Jamie Brown is a sociopath that wants one thing...your money

I am the one that has been setting up merchant accounts for zaga studios and I am actually shocked at what I am reading here by Aaron and Michele. Zaga Studios told me not to bother posting a rebuttal because they were taking legal action against this guy for defamation, but I feel I must say something. These guys have been in business for over 15 years, and the ONLY negative feedback that you'll find about then ANYWHERE is this posting. Look around, I can guarantee that you won't find anything. As far as Zaga Studios pushing merchant accounts on anyone, what a croc of crap, I have two things to say about that: one, we have only done about 10 merchant accounts for them in the 9 years we've been doing business with them and they have over 200 agents (gee it doesn't sound like anyone is pushing the merchant accounts now does it?), two, as a merchant account processor, these 10 guys are my biggest accounts, they are selling HUGE, consistent volume. Zaga Agents make very big money and it is TRUE, when people are not accepted into their program they get angry, so angry that they may even post statements like this. Aaron, you make me sick! It makes me sick that there is a forum like this to post lies.

I am friends with Aaron and have spoken with him about this situation with Zaga. There are always two sides to the story but the facts are the facts! In Jamie's rebuttal letter he said that he was thinking of a way to help Aaron and that it took him a day to come up with a plan (ah ha the merchant account). I know this is a lie. Aaron has internet phone service and showed me the date and time that he spoke with Jamie He also showed me an e-mail sent to him by an associate just minutes after that conversation that included the merchant account. Lie number one. I spent about thirty minutes today checking the information of Zaga Studios web site and found that everything posted on Aaron's account regarding the virtual status of Zaga is true. I called every city listed on the web site and not one has a Zaga Studios. I also cross referenced the numbers on the site and found that not even one of the numbers belonged to Zaga Studios. Zaga Studios lie number two. The whopper, Zaga Studios lie number three is easy to check. Just go to their web site at www.zagastudios.com and scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see a fraud alert. Both individuals listed in this are the two people who filed a complaint against Jamie! I KNOW that Aaron has not proceeded with any business regarding Zaga. He is sick about the company and would never work with these guys. This alone is evidence enough to not trust these guys! Final note: Aaron is the most calm person I know. His e-mail address includes the word insouciant. It means light hearted lack of concern. He is truly that. He is humorous and kind and very trusting. He was hustled by these folks. I have heard several phone messages from Jamie the Zaga rep and he was nothing but snooty, manipulative and threatening. Check the FACTS your self. It is easy!

I'm a newer agent with Zaga Studios and Jamie Brown is my company mentor. This guy has done nothing but bend over backwards for me to help me succeed. He doesn't even get paid to help new agents like myself. SHAME ON YOU AARON for lying about such a great company. Shame on you for spreading lies about a guy that has helped so many people. When I signed on, they didn't even mention the words merchant account to me. And as far as their offices being in a virtual setting. I live in LA and have been to their Los Angeles location several times to drop off paperwork. And since they are a company on the cutting edge, they do allow some of their editors to work from their home after they have been with the company for a while. Jamie is such a popular guy and has helped so many people that the second word gets out in the company that you've posted these lies about him there will be so many rebuttals that this site won't even post them all.

When Jamie sent me the link to this report I felt compelled to post my own experience with Zaga Studios. During the time when I was looking at the Zaga Sales Agent program I spoke at length with Mr. Brown as well as several other Independent agents. It was never represented to me that I would be required to purchase a merchant account using their vendor in order to join the program. My undertanding was that it would be necessary to have a merchant account in order to transact credit card orders but that I was free to use the vendor of my choice. I was told upfront that Zaga received a commission on all merchant account orders and that if I opted to use their vendor I would receive a private labelled Zaga Studios website for use in my own business at no extra charge. Once again, for the record, it was never required that I purchase a merchant service account through Zaga in order to join their program. In the end, I too, chose to establish my account through a different vendor. This was done openly and resulted in none of the negative reprecussions you report. I have found the Zaga Studios opportunity to have very little overhead. The merchant account is one of the only true hard costs associated with running this business. Thank you. Aaron Calhoun seems confused, allow me to bring in some sunshine

#8REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, September 30, 2004

I am Jamie Brown, a proud agent for Zaga Studios. Sometimes I offer to help new agents get started. I don't make a dime from this but I do get a lot of personal fulfilment by helping people better themselves. Aaron Calhoun asked me to take him under my wing to help him get started in the business. As I was helping him get set up (something that I am not even paid to do but was simply trying to be nice) he asked me about accepting credit cards and if I knew how to go about getting him set up and I said, "sure, let me call around" he also saw our website and asked how he could get something similar but he didn't have any money to pay for it so once again, in my attempt to assist him, I simply said, " let me see what I can do" the next day I found that we could get a referral fee from a merchant account vendor for passing business to them. Zaga Studios said that we could use that referral fee to pay a graphic designer on Aaron's behalf to customize a site for him. Zaga Studios offers this to many of the new agents that are short on funds but want to get a website to help them sell the product, I was happy to tell Aaron that I found a solution for him. He was grateful and so we got a site started for him and started pushing his paperwork through for a merchant account. Then out of nowhere after almost a week into helping him, he calls me and says, he still wants the site but to cancel his merchant account paperwork. He blew up when I told him that without the merchant account, there is no referral fee, without the referral fee, we can't pay the graphic designer to customize the site. This guy just totally flipped out. Aaron, are we suppose to pay for your website for you? You were the one that asked us to go above and beyond to help you. Why would you even post something like this after all we did to help you?
