Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On July 4th, my family and I traveled to go the Zoom Flume Waterpark. I paid with my Visa Debit card for approxiamately $53.00.

Through out the day my husband I noticed that their health and safety stickers that were posted on each of the waterslide signs were expired. We should have caught a clue then.... there were only a few life guards assigned to each area (although the young people who worked there were very pleasant, even the one life guard whose girlfriend was kissing his neck on the job seemed to be pleasant).

On Wednesday when I checked my balance in my bank account I noticed that Zoom Flume had taken their $52.88 and there was a hold on my checking account for an ADDITIONAL $52.88.

I immediately called to verify with my bank and then placed a call to Zoom Flume, I waited all day for a return call as they were looking into their records (they told me this has happened in the past to others).

I called them back several hours later only to be told the person who can handle this situation will not be returning until Friday. They had tied up my money a full week if not longer. I told them that was unacceptable and Claire was put on the phone to handle my situation (I found out that Claire is the owner).

Although Claire was going to call the credit card company the following day, through out my discussion with Claire, she did not once apologize for my inconvienence of my money being tied up and the time and effort it was taking me to resolve this issue. She said Zoom Flume did nothing wrong, I repeatedly had to ask her if she was Zoom Flume and she would say yes, then my reply would be you have a hold on my money, how is this my fault.

Claire said it was not Zoom Flume's fault but MY fault, called me closed minded, to open my ears and continually kept hanging up on me. She was yelling and screaming at me (I of course had to raise my voice when she was refusing to assist me).

She told me that she could not believe that I was arguing over $53.00 when in actuality it was her who was aruguing over the money. She made me feel bad stating that $53.00 is not a lot of money, I am sorry to our family it is.

An apology and perhaps a $5.00 coupon to visit her park

(she told me to get $5.00 from my bank not her) would have cleared things up for me. It took several hours for me to rectify the situation.

If Zoom Flume would have accepted the responsibility of their machine malfunctioning and offer an apology or be nice about it, I would not be writing this e-mail.

I will never step foot in her park again, I will notify the proper authorities about her expired certificates and be sure to tell everyone that I come in contact with to never ever step foot in her park.

P.S. I did receive my money on Friday after I went through hoops to get my money back. We live on a tight budget with my husband being in the military. Our money was released just in time to give to my husband to travel with as he was activated after the terrorist attacks in London and was being deployed to NYC. So much for an enjoyable 4th of July!
